Jason - thanks for the info. So the 2005+ Mustangs use these clamps on stock exhaust that only has the tubes butted together instead of slipped into each other?

I know the same clamps you guys supply with your H or X pipes look the same as the ones used on the front end of the stock resonator, but the pipes slip together at that connection.

I just want a solid leak tight connection ... and not have to fight it much to make the exhaust tips come out even with each other and aligned with the rear fascia cut-outs. But sounds like the guys who chimed in here had good installation results, so that answers some of my concern.
Correct. All 2005+ mustang GT's and GT500's use the same style connection and clamps where the mid pipe meets the overaxle pipes.

The connection is the same on the 2015's where the cat pipes meet the resonator. The pipes don't ever overlap. They use a band clamp to mate the same diameter piping together.

Slap that thing on the car and gets some vids already!!:cheers:

It looked like in various H-pipe installation videos on YouTube that the front of the resonator tubes slide up inside the pipes coming from the cats ... hard to tell in the videos I guess.

But now looking closer, I see that the diameter of the front end of the H-pipe tubes are the same diameter as the cat pipes, so it is a end to end butt connection.

LoL ... yep.

is there a significant difference between the LP pipe and this one?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/heartthrob-h-pipe-2015gt.html

This one is flared on the ends instead of a butt to butt connection.
The American Muscle one you linked is not stainless steel, but rather "Aluminized Steel Construction", and the down stream ends are flared and use the thin clamps.

It should sound the same, but I would go for a stainless H-pipe instead of the aluminized steel.

I'm OK with the butted together joint now that I understand it better. The front of all these H-pipes use the butted together ends with the long stock clamps used at the front of the resonator. The stock resonator uses butted ends too.

It looks like the UPR stainless H-pipe is the same as the LP one ... and the UPR is on sale with free shipping right now, and a better price than any of them out there.
