It will make it a tad louder than a single h pipe, but will also change the tone more. Just depends on what sound you're after.

As hot exhaust gases acellular to find an exit suitable, the hot gases become confused. In an elementary description the exhaust gases are male female, and undecided.

As the male hot gases reach the intersection of first "H" they cross over.
The female gases that are attached to males gases follow their males gases at first "H". The unattached female gases will either follow the original flow pattern or move over at next "H" connection, if they miss some of their male or female gases that passed over at first "H". Also at this time some male or female gases may switch over at 2nd "H" just because their gases are getting to crowded or hot.

The undecided gases have no pattern, some stop and protest, some try to reverse direction, this is where all the low grumbling comes from. If you run a straight dual pipe with no cross overs then their is no confusing so there isn't a lot of grumbling. Male gases on oneside, female gases on the other. When you start mixing all the gases up is when you have the issue of gasses fighting and yelling at each other.

So you have male and female and an h pipe kinda makes things gender neutral right?

Every H is 2.5 horsepower. Everyone knows that
My single H added 6. Sooooo double H you lose 1 hp. Sweet.

The double H is just a name they gave for it, like the double helix pipe that is similar. Its built that way for resonance to tone it down since Coyotes are very raspy with exhausts.
