Has anyone swapped Recaro for Leather power seats or even standard cloth GT seats from one of the other S550 models? I have a V6 cloth manual adjustable seat for my wife in the passenger side and now I'm thinking I want something more comfortable myself for longer cruises and am curious if the electronic adjustments work.

I've briefly looked at trading to '17 with convenience package, but prefer not to.

Thanks. There wasn't any details that I'm aware of though. I guess the basic question is whether power cables in the Track Pack are pre-run for a electric front/back movement?

The title of the thread is Power Lether Seats in Track Pack.

I believe there maybe wiring and control issues with attempting this.

A few months back I started in putting recaro's in my tech and can confirm you need several BCM (body control modules) for a tech to go power seats plus a new wire harness cost online was about $850 for those. I was going to swap with a track guy his wife is pregnant and wanted more comfy seat however it wasn't possible without extensive work to his track.

Track seat are plug and play for tech cars but not the other way around

Your better off getting manual cloth GT seats and doing new skins. I've seen base seats go for between 500-800 the new leather covers will cost you about 1k plus adding aftermarket heat and cooling elements +300. So total 1800-2100 whereas tech leather seats go for 2600 there is a guy listing some in the forum marketplace. Cheapest I've seen them was 2300 but you still have shipping +400 on top of that. Going to new covers allows you to pic any material and design you'd like and is better quality than oem. The seats are more vinyl than leather only the part your butt and back touches is leather and cheap quality at that. The sides and backs are vinyl while the centers are alcantara.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll probably keep my eye out for another V6 base drivers seat on ebay with manual adjustments like I already used in the passenger.

I've done exactly this swap. Can be done but the existing wiring for the Recaros isn't going to just plug into the new power seats. There is not a ground or power cable in the existing harness...so that is going to have to be worked out. I had my local Ford dealer do the work to make it a plug and play operation so I could swap my Recaros back in if I wanted to. Haven't put them back in yet. Cost was about $500 for the dealer to do it and I provided some cheap...well cheaper than leather...cloth seats out of a 15-16 GT. If I was going to do it again I would try to find leather seats. But anyway it can be done.
