Launching, auto 3.15's

I know, this has prolly been beaten to death but, fastest launch from a dead stop 5.0: D or S? TC off/on? Mash the pedal or slower to start?

I've actually mostly owned sticks, which is why I ask. Thanks!!

Drive in Sport Mode with Traction Control on, foot on brake, load engine to about 1000 rpms. I only add with Traction Control on, because you are on your own otherwise if traction is suddenly lost.

The biggest problem with the auto in the torque converter, it has a relatively low stall speed. The great thing if that you rarely will encounter a complete traction loss, and if engaged in a stop light race, the auto is going to be faster 9/10 times than the car your up against, as many manual drivers get too excited and drop the hammer and spin, or miss shifts or shift point when the adrenaline gets pumping.
