Got mine today, its definitely a nice piece - the polishing made the racing under the Ford emblem fairly illegible but unless someone is actually looking at it they probably would assume its just light.

Just got mine,
i picked the clear one so my logo will be somewhat visible....
it is, but sadly i chose an image over a text so you need to look to recognize.
the question now, how can i paint this and still keep it look good....

Hit it with some fine grit sandpaper and then use some model paint you can get at Michaels! I have found this to be the best way to paint the detail plastic.

Please do post up some pictures! I need to see exactly what the engravings look like. Both of you had the .5mm depth so once someone gets the updated .7mm I would like to compare.

Well my cover came in today! Looks awesome and is not as thick as I was thinking it would be, which is a good thing! I must have messed up when I ordered, since mine did not get the engraving I uploaded with it... Guess I'll have to try again and just use this one for now

Sorry guys! Wanted to get the thing painted and installed before it started raining. Humidty and drying paint don't mix.
Here it is- Sorry for the dirty car. I may paint the base red to match. Left it black to match the center stack; I'm not sure yet...
Sanded it lightly with 600 grit, cleaned it with JX101 degreaser, two coats of red and one coat of clear. Looks pretty good  but I wish it said MUSTANG like I wanted

It looks better than the first prototype but I still don't like the ring. I don't see why it needs a ring. It could just be a small mounting pivot area at the top and let the cover cup the button.

The ring is there to provide a larger surface for the adhesive tape. Just a small pivot mechanism up top would not have enough surface area to be held securely. The cover would easily fall off if I didn't have the full ring.

So I've been messing around with the cover, trying it out and I just wanted to post some feedback. First, both the ring and the cover are very solid. It doesn't feel like I'm going to break it when I'm opening/closing the lid. The ring doesn't feel like it's going to come off or like it's bending when I open the cover, either. It's actually pretty thin, so it doesn't stick out and look out of place against the toggle switches.
Quality is very nice and the detailed plastic finish was pretty good. Like I said, I lightly hit it with 600, cleaned it and sprayed it and it looks good. Painting didn't mess with the functionality of it in any way. Very smooth to swing open/close.
