Ok guys so a little back ground on what i have. 2017 GT MT82 3:55s, GT350 manifold/ throttle body, PMAS GT350 CAI, Long tube headers with off road mid pipe, RST clutch lightened steel flywheel, DSS CF drive shaft, Gforce axles, Full BMR suspension, and Lund flex tune.

Car runs fantastic and i have no complaints on the cars performance, but its time to add a little more. I will be installing MMR OPGs and crank sprocket soon, and figured while Ive got it tore apart i might as well drop in some intake cams and get a little more power out of it. From the little bit thats out there, seems most people pick up around 20HPish from the intake cams and don't lose any power under the curve. If i do end up going with the cams i will do my best to try and get a before and after dyno done to try and record the gains just from the cams.

Also i noticed that L&M recently added the exhaust cams as an option to go along with the intake cams. You guys think those would be worth the extra cost/effort? I spoke with mike from L&M and he said there should be anywhere from 10-15 HP added going with the exhaust cams too. Said he hadn't had anyone send him any results as of yet though.

I'm looking for any first hand experience from people who have done the swap. Was it worth the time and effort? Anyone out there that want to chime in who have given the intake cams a shot? what about anyone who has tried the intake and exhaust cams?

There's only a hand full of people that have installed cams in general. Most people are going to tell you it's not worth it, just save up and slap a blower or a turbo on it and call it a day. I would say, since you already have it torn apart, go ahead and install them and let it rip! Plus, posting before and after graphs of just the cam install would be incredibly beneficial to everyone!

I installed the Comp Cams stage 3 and it was a huge difference. I have heard of people being disappointed with the L&M cams

Thats my thinking its going to be apart might as well, it cant hurt right? lol Also if i can swing it i will get the graphs, wont be same day graphs but it will be something at least.

until someone makes better gains than ^^^^ that dude comp stage 3 or bust for NA cams.
Im not looking for all out NA power, or to spend 1500 on a full set of Cams in all honesty. im going to have everything tore apart, might as well drop these in at the same time. I know they wont make as much peak power as the comps, but they should help some. surely they cant hurt right? lol

It feels like a stock car for everyday regular driving.

IMO no... not worth the L&M cams and being disappointed.... Put good cams in or don't even mess with it. That is how I see it.... sorry, but that is what I would want someone to tell me.

The truth may hurt but I have to agree with evil 5.0 Here... I would leave the stock cams in before I switched to L&M. That's my opinion.

Here is a quote from PM.... I hope the owner don't mind.... but I'm a believer if you make a claim, back up the post. So here is what he said to me, just so you know and have Facts, I want people to have good information. And to his defense, 478 is not a turd lol

"Btw I'm very jealous of your setup. I've got the same think but a ported cj with vmp 67 and L&M intake cams. Car is a turd even with a dyno tune. Made 478 on e85 and 466 on 93. My cams are some trash, I made a mistake lol.

I'm contemplating getting the comps now and selling mine. Would you say it was worth all the cost?"

Your numbers are impressive for sure! honestly if my car made 470 HP id be happy for now. I have a D1X planned for the future, so 470 would hold me over till next year lol

Just wondering with your comps Is there any drive ability or tuning issues? Im sure most of your power comes in above 6K, how much did you lose down low if any? I have heard a few people say that with the Comp 3s they got valve float. Also how is the sound with them? I'm not wanting something that goes chop chop, i know that most of that's in the tune but didn't know if the comps made it happen or not.

I hate that the whole thing got deleted a few years ago well after the fact. Id always refer anyone to the thread and let them decide if they still wanted to use either company. It saved everyone I linked a ton of money, anger, downtime.
