I'm thinking of fitting KW V3 coil - overs, has anyone fitted these yet?

My Mustang GT will be my DD (when it arrives in Sydney) and I intend to use it on the track at the weekend.

I know there are plenty of alternatives, but my local tuning specialist recommends these highly.

I'm having them installed on my MY16 next week. I've only heard great things about them and where I'm having them installed their track car has them.

I'm interested in this as well. I'm also waiting to hear more about aFe's new coilovers from people who have put them to use.

Hi Dennis,

I can't wait to hear what you think of them. I'm sure I won't be the only one.

Cheers,
Ian

You'll love them for street and track duty, the KW's spring rates make street driving very comfortable

Hi Ian. Dropped her off today and will pick her up Friday. On Sunday a group of 20+ ponies are going for a cruise up on Palomar Mountain so I'll post a review after that.

I'm interested in a comparo of KWV3 Vs Koni Yellow (and Bilstein Dampers, FRPP Dampers) + BMR Handling Springs. I've considered the v3's but didnt go with them for cost/benefit (presumed) for my usage. Also Mustang Collector wrote a great review and I believe he preferred the Steeda Ultras and the FRPP Springs for daily.

Hi guys,

SC_Ruby (hi Dennis) is running the KW V3 coil overs and I know he's happy with them. I was going that route, but now I've decided on ST XTA coil overs (made by KW) -cheaper and made from galvanised steel, not S/S. No problem in sunny Sydney. I have been taken for a ride on some pretty horrible local roads in a Mustang GT with the ST's and I was impressed by how well they rode the bumps. My car isn't arriving in Sydney for another 3 weeks, so I'm just gathering parts and information right now.

I'm sure there are a number of effective ways to improve the handling of the S550 Mustang, although I have chosen adjustable coil overs because I want a comfortable DD that can also be set up for track days with R spec tires. Unless someone has the chance to compare different suspension set ups it's hard to be sure what works best, so it's a bit of a guessing game. It would be v.interesting to compare, say, a good quality spring/shock combo (Steeda etc)with coil overs on different roads/tracks.

My Guard GT will have ST XTA coilovers, HRE P101 wheels (silver, 20x 10, 20 x 11), Michelin SuperSports ( I think 275-35 and 305-35) & Steeda "Stop the Hop" for daily use. I'll use stock 19 inch wheels with R Spec tires for track use - haven't decided what tire yet.

I guess we're all learning, but you guys in the US have far more experience. My local suspension specialists in Sydney admit they are still on a learning curve re.camber adjustment (XTA's are camber adjustable), ride height and so on. They've fitted XT STA's to about four cars so far and there are guys waiting in line for the next shipment to arrive, including me. I'm driving my new GT direct from the dealership to my suspension shop, so I'll be running coil overs from day one

Best regards,
Ian
