KW V1 Coilovers question

I'm thinking about buying the V1s, I have a base 2017, would I need to buy the Ford Performance Strut Mounts? I notice the V1s don't come with camber plates.

If so, do I just place the strut mounts in top of the coilovers? Or is there another piece I have to buy? Is it recommended that I also buy C/C plates?


Any help is appreciated, I know my questions are probably dumb.
I'm new to coilovers.

You will need the strut mount, spring isolators, bump stops (transfer and cut or replace with new shorter ones) and bearings, I always replace the bearing when I do suspension because they are designed to crush into place and you'll never align it just like it was. I also normally replace the whole mount itself. I also replace any bolts or nuts that I use because for $5 it seems like good value to stay alive, in this case you will need:

2 spline bolts and 2 nuts for this to attach to the spindle *(these are stretch bolts designed to shear on impact and therefore are not optional to replace)
3 nuts to attach the mount to the body at the top
1 nut to screw on the mount

That's about it for the front. You can go ahead and do camber plates too, if you just buy everything it saves you from taking your old stuff apart if you want to easily sell it or reinstall later. I have a foot-operated spring compressor so I don't really care either way.

The rear is easier in terms of not having to actually assemble the struts and springs beforehand and no spline bolts, but has its own challenges. Again, I'd replace bolts and nuts but it's less essential since these wheels aren't turning or doin as much stopping... and do yourself a favor and do the Steeda shock mounts while you're in there because they really work quite well.

Don't the KW V1 fronts come pre-assembled? Aren't the spring isolators included in the Ford Performance strut mount kit? Where do I find all the nuts and bolts you're referring to? Should I get those at the Ford dealer? Is it really necessary to replace all those nuts and bolts? Unless the KW V1 kit comes with their own nuts and bolts.

Looks like a complete kit ready to bolt on to me . Unless your dropping it drastically you won't need camber plates.

Looks like a complete kit ready to bolt on to me . Unless your dropping it drastically you won't need camber plates.
I'd be happy with 1.5" all around, is that low enough to get C/C plates? Or do you think I'll be good?

You should be able to get away with that if you have a problem n can't get camber close enough you can get the camber bolts . They are easy to ad after the fact
