At the end of the day, I think it all comes down to the sales person. Mine was pretty bad but the sales manager made the deal. I think a lot of them use the excuse that other dealers can't possibly sell for a given price yet these deals are not that unique.

Keep trying until you get a deal you're happy with.

i just picked up my ecoboost manual performance package from Robert at Koons Ford of Silver Spring (25ish miles from the Sterling Koons). The sale price was $23,500, they gave me more than anyone else offered on my trade, and the fees weren't terrible. It was still cheaper out the door than anywhere else I found. I highly recommend the Silver Spring dealer. I tried to test drive one at the Sterling dealer, and had a TERRIBLE experience. I drove there from my house (a little over an hour away) ready to make a purchase. I called and asked if they could have the car pulled out when I got there because I was in a bit of a hurry. They said they would have it done. I called once I was about 15 minutes away to let them know how far out I was. They said "we already took the car out, fueled it up, and it's parked out front waiting on you". When I got there, there was no car out front. No big deal. I ran inside to talk with the salesmen and ask them again to pull the car around. They had me sit at the gentleman's desk for about 20 minutes, then came out and said "since we're under construction, our cars are in a lot down the road. We're going to go pick the mustang up and bring it back here". After another 15 minutes of waiting, the salesman came up to me and said, "all of our managers are out of town in Vegas for a conference, and they took all of the mustang keys with them. I can't have you test drive the mustang today. We'll give you a call sometime next week about it." It's been two weeks, but I've still not heard from them and i've since purchased a mustang at the silver spring location. Where I bought mine, the salesman Robert threw in a hat and shirt for me. The manager Jimmy made a few calls to a manager at a Toyota dealer to get us a sweet deal on a car for my wife too. Silver Spring all the way!

Not saying this wasn't your experience, but are you sure it was Koons Sterling Ford? They had construction a few years ago, but haven't been under construction in a long time. I also met with two of the sales managers I have bought cars from in the past there just about every other day for the last two weeks while searching for my car.

Weird.

I agree with above that it can depend on the salesman and manager you run into no matter what dealer....except Jerry's Ford in Leesburg. I have given them one phone call for every car I have bought in the last 10 years, just to check and every time I hang up the phone I feel like I need a shower.

I have been on auto trader and cars.com for the last two months and the cheapest cars are consistently in that region of the country. The Northeast United States is one of the most densely populated and congested transportation areas in the hemisphere. Ultra competitive regional market also probably has something to do with it. I've noticed this too, but didn't want to say anything and spoil a secret. A stripper eco-boost or a six can run you 21,000 and change! Crazy

I have my 2007 GT up for sale. I realy want a 2015 and was looking at cars.com Its seems that Koon's Ford in VA has "To good to be true prices" on their web page. Are their prices for real or are they Gimiks?
I recently purchased my Mustang GT Premium PP from Koon's Ford in Falls Church. Russell Walker (sales) and Larry Mills (GM) really took care of me and I got an incredible deal. I was adamant about no front plates and no prep wash - both instructions were followed. Couldn't really ask for more, except the fact they strangely were not aware of the COTUS tracking site

I've been shopping for a 15 GT within 300 miles of NE Ohio and the lowest prices on base cars have been at Koons and Sheehy Ford. VA and MD seem to have the lowest prices around on base GT's.

I got a few quotes and even with the ridiculous doc. and delivery fees they were still a little less than X-plan.

What I don't like, and it's not just this dealer, are the follow up generic spam e-mails asking when I'm coming in to get my car or when can they call me. Every other day. That's why I use a spare e-mail addy. for dealing with sales type deals.

I can get Z plan through my grandfather. I may talk to the family salesman. I really want a stripped down NO OPTION base GT. I will mod it as I please. I would like to get OTD for 29-30K. But I am also planning on going in with a $4000 down payment.

Looking at the xplan site they have about 4 or 5 GTs for about $31k x plan at KSF. The pricing on the one I have ordered is about $1600 below x plan out the door (tax, tag, etc included) including incentive of $500 Ford has right now.

Getting one for 29-30k seems easily achievable considering your almost there with straight x plan.
