Which headers would you go for and why? Assume they’re all the same price. Looking for optimal performance and sound.

I'd buy the set that has the tubes closest to equal length.

I plan on going with ARH when the time comes, AFAIK ARH was actually started by a former kooks employee?

I think for the most part performance between any of the well made kits are going to be real similar, I doubt one LTH is going to get you a large gain over another with same size primaries and collectors.

I’m going with ARH. Had them on my Corvette and was really happy with them. $2K for the set but well worth the money.

I have Kooks and am very happy with them. If you go to my YouTube channel, there's a video comparing the cold starts of stock vs Kooks.

Fitment and quality are top notch with them as well.

Ended up shooting for ARH! No one has ever had a bad thing to say about them. Bit of a wait time but hopefully it’ll be worth it.

Any recs on a tune for when I’ve got them on?

You don't need a tune for them.

We've ran both ARH and Kooks on multiple builds and never had an issue with quality, fitment, or sound. They've always exceed our expectations and remained consistent. We're direct with both of the companies, too, so would be more than happy to assist on a set from either one. Let us know if we can help out or if you have any questions.

EDIT: I will say - if you're going boosted and wanting a set of cats that will last, the Kooks green (GESI cats) will be your best bet.

The green cats (GESI) are made to EPA standards, so if you're passing now with stock, you'd give yourself the best chance of passing using the Kooks green cats. This does boil down to who is tuning the car, too, and what other components are modified on the car. No emission components should be modified on the car.

Shouldn’t need a tune with just long tubes and a mid pipe though no? Might go boost in a few years not sure, just want to be able to sail through MA inspections

Back in the day Kooks headers for Marauders and Crown Vics were known to crack where the primaries met the flanges. Seeing the photo above makes me wonder if that'll still be a problem 5-10 years down the line.
