My experiences

Hi All, thought I'd share my personal experiences installing the DRL/Fog/Parking LED package.

- Fog lamps: really simple, easy to access, remove and replace as shown by Kaps
- DRLs: not so easy to access, passenger side replaced OK after about 10 minutes of mucking around trying to align but pushed in and locked into place. Drivers side had a real issue with, could not get locked into place even though it was aligned. Tried a number of times and spent well over 3 hours but best I could get was it sort of being wedged into the socket. Seems to have worked as has not displaced after 1000+ Kms. Reckon issue is a combination of location, bulb not being exactly right (was able to put back old bulb with ease), and strength in left arm
- Parking light/Front side lamp: Earlier poster mentioned to follow the owner's manual and all is OK. Did this and could not get bulb out. Tried needle nosed pliers but too bid for space. Bought some small pliers to get to bulb and managed to only break the socket by pulling out one of the contacts. What I have now worked out is that the manual IS WRONG, don't follow it. Point 5 of the Front Side Lamp replacement on page 157 says to "Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out.", DON'T. As per the other bulbs you need to twist counter clockwise by an 1/8th of a turn and then pull out. Once I worked this out then it was easy to get out and replace.....just waiting on a new socket ($7) to be shipped up from Melbourne

Good luck

Other than the two reading lights the rest are all colour controlled LED's why would you want to touch them?
Not quite...

DD interior pack includes:
Vanity lights, Glove box, trunk/boot light, map/reading lights.

The ones that are colour controlled on the interior are:
Gauges, footwell accent, door handle accent, cup holder accent, Mustang door sill.

For me, I've set all my accent lights to red and got the DD interior in red, so they all match nicely. I left passenger vanity (wife didn't want to be red) and glovebox (nobody ever sees it :) ), which gives me a couple of spares.

There are still a bunch of lights that are blue (power windows, etc), but they're fairly dull and they stand out being a different colour, so it all works :)

hi everybody,

I bought the LED package from blingworks and managed to fit everything inside my car.

My only issue is that the DRLs are not very stable. If I touch the cable, I can see the bulb moving around.
Is it the same for everybody ?

I can put back the stock bulb without issue but with the Konik, I think the bulb is too big so it doesn't fit completely.

Hi Mqrko,

I think the Koniks shouldn't move when properly seated. They do fit but the issue I found was that you had to use a lot of force to push in before turning 45 degrees clockwise. What I have found is you can test the fitment and seating by removing the O ring seal but it will move around without this so you'll need to include it for final fitting.

Good luck

Oh i see. I was scared of breaking something if i push too hard.

Because the stock bulb just fits without pushing.

I'll try again tonight

Edit: done. Thanks for the tips. I just had to push hard and twist :)

Hi guys,

I purchased the blingworks package and am fine with everything except fitting the parking lights. I just can't seem to remove the bulb holder, does it twist anti-clockwise to remove and does anyone have any removal tips/advice?

You have to twist anti-clockwise, the manual in this case is incorrect.
Mine are very tight and so far have given up - I'll get my dealership to do mine when they take the bumper off to install front park sensors.
I have read suggestions of using short grip pliers to get a better grip to turn the housing - i did attempt this but with my only pair of pliers being very aweful (multitool :frusty:) I couldn't turn it enough without slicing my hands open.

Hi Tedy,

I had major issues with the parking lights. It doesn't, as the manual says, pull straight out. You need to press in slightly and turn 45 degrees anti-clockwise to remove. I did it with the cable still attached as I was able to get more leverage.
Did have issues putting it back as well. Found it easier to do with the car facing down hill as was able to put more pressure on the socket when trying to refit.

Good luck

Just a tip.
1. Try to change them on a sunny day, after you have come from a drive. Easy to take off when warm.
2. Use longer nose pliers, short nose pliers don't get good grip. Hold from the square side of connector for better grip and make sure you can see where you are holding it before applying any pressure.
3. Put some masking tape on nose pliers pins to avoid any scuff marks on connector.
4. Leave the connectors on and turn anticlockwise 45 degrees to remove

This is what worked for me. Changed in 3 cars without any dramas.

I had the DRL/Fog/Parking/front indicator bulbs replaced by Blingworks today. Massive difference. Was never going down this path but the other day I had a 6th gen in my rear view mirror for quite a while. I was admiring it as if it was my own but those DRLs looked as if they were run by a candle, so hideous. Great work from the boys, Howe & David from Blingworks.
