My car came with one from the factory: It's the round button next to the rocker switches :). Seriously, why do you think you need one? It's nearly impossible to steal a car with keyless ignition if you're not careless. But if you insist on one, you better put it where nobody would look, which is NOT under the dash. The easiest way would be to splice the PI fuel pump under the rear seat, since it's very easy to lift, and the pump is right there. Nobody would suspect it's there IMO. I don't think our car would start with DI only, but could be wrong. Since the DI pump is mechanical, you'd have to cut off ignition if the PI pump doesn't work. Good luck.

keyless cars are easy to steal, they just clone the key.
The car doesn't start, I forgot to connect the power when I swapped the pump.

You already know the fuel pump will work. Not sure, kill all power (bat) every time you go for a drive the car will have to relearn itself.

I think you worry to much about the clone deal. Chances of the happening are a little better then getting struck by lighting.

I agree with you. If that was true, new car theft would be thru the roof by now. But most of the cars stolen are older ones, without keyless entry.

That might be the case In the US, a quick Google shows the average car age in the UK is 7.9 years where as the US it's 11.9 with 25% at least 16 years old.

The figures from LV= show that luxury car makes such as Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes, Porsche and Tesla are increasingly affected by keyless theft, accounting for almost half (48%) of all ‘theft of’ vehicle claims.

The most stolen car in the us is a honda civic then honda accord then ford f150
these cars are for parts market, not like "gone in 60 seconds"
