just got Track setting, didn't have it before

About a week ago when I either entered or left my car there was a chiming sound as if headlights or something else was left one, but there was no message on the screen. I checked things including the manual but couldn't find anything so got busy and ignored it. today when I used the car(first time in about 4 days) noticed when I went to set it to S+ there was a "track" setting that I never had before. Anyone else have something like this? Could software been updated remotely from Ford? Tomorrow will call Ford customer service.

prior to today the track logo- looks like a helmet- never appeared on the screen, and since it's an EB and I'm 71 never was an issue, getting to old to burn rubber. Just weird that after 10 months it showed up.

I see that you have an auto. The chiming you heard was probably because you didn't have the shifter fully engaged in park. Truth be told, I think its a little bit sensitive as to whether or not the car knows its in park. I had the chime happen to me a few times and it wasn't until I pushed the shifter forward that I figured it out. The car was definitely in park but just needed that extra bump to be sure I guess.

As to why track mode suddenly appeared, I have no idea.

The driving mode has been there the whole time, you just never went past sport+ mode it seems.

I use S+ all the time. what the screen has always said was Normal, Sport +, and Snow/Rain. I just got off the phone with me son who uses the car periodically and he confirmed he never saw the Track mode either. Guess it's just those software gremlins. What happened to the days of my '69 Firebird when you just started her up, put her in gear, away we went?

Have you swapped keys or messed with the 'MyKey' settings?

My on car one key has track mode and the other does not.

This isn't "software gremlins" which is a fictional thing, it just went unnoticed previously. It was always there.

you're right. yesterday I used the administrator key thinking the key might have been the issue with the chiming. Ok, that's resolved.
