3 types of haters here...

The 5th Gen guys (Ugly arguement, fear of additional performance and losing sales battle)
S197 Retro guys (Fusion arguement, some have buyers remorse)
Musclecar guys (No such thing past 1974, your S197, 5th Gen or Chally IS NOT a Musclecar)

However, it will be deemed perfection buy the Camaro crowd when they release a 2017 Camaro that looks like this...

The S197 guys will convert due to the more aggressive, well balanced stance of the '15. The performance will grab most of the attention... Out of the nearly 2 million people that have bought new/pre-owned S197's will be shopping for a S550 soon.

The Musclecar guys will go the way the Retro cars did. Those that are dubbed "Musclecars"... They will go away and won't be seen again until their childred are targeted for the "retro" market.

The door handles are probably parts bin pieces...But I don't mind. I noticed that the headrests are the same as the Fusion...again, no complaints from me. It just means that the price will be a bit lower than it could have been.

I actually do see some similarities in some of the creases and lines, but unlike some people I don't think that's a bad thing. The Fusion is a great looking car, and if they happen to share some cues I think that is a positive, not a negative.

Agree 100%. The car is absolutely identifiable instantly as a Mustang. That's really all it should take to satisfy anyone.

Again, agreed. However, it is only a familial resemblance and isn't a "fusion coupe" or "insert random insult about it looking like an Accord, Nissan, Fusion etc etc".

At first I was fine with people venting and comparing it to other cars but at this point I'm just downright annoyed by it. If you don't like it, fine, but stop looking at it and move along.

^this. The fusion is critically acclaimed for ts design. I dont know how anyone could say that the mustang is ugly if it looked like it. But the mustang looks like a mustang, not a fusion or anything else.

Agree. Once people have come to terms with change, everyone will love the design and stop blindly hating on it.

The Mustang had to evolve...and luckily ( from my perspective ) Ford did it right. The demographic of the average Mustang buyer is aging....50 - 55 is the last I heard. If we want the Mustang nameplate to continue, younger buyers have to be attracted to keep sales numbers viable for Ford.

A few are going to hate it and nothing can be said to change their minds. A portion will be noncommittal fence sitters, until they see it in person and start to hear of performance figures....it'll grow on them. Most will immediately see it as a Mustang, take it to heart right away and really, really like it....as I do.

You can't please all of the people all of the time....but the Mustang can evolve with the times and remain a car that we love....I think Ford proved that very well today.

I agree it doesn't look like a Fusion.. but they are both Fords and have family ties of course. I heard a few say it looks like an Accord Coupe. Funny, I just bought a 2014 Accord Coupe & thought the same from side profile. Pix is my new V6 Coupe
