This.

Can't wait to watch this one develop. A while back I spoke with SA about wide-bodying my '15. The hard part will be doing without your car for the period of time while it's being reborn.
I will keep this updated as often as I get new information, hopefully it will be enlightening for all of us. I really do not know much about the process.

I watched another member of 6g go through his wide body build. I remember saying to myself, self....I would not want to go through the wait.... well look at me now lol.

considering it's projected to take 9 months, does that mean you're "pregnant" with anticipation?
Will there be periodic "sonograms" of progress? An explosion of tinsel in the chosen body color at a "reveal party"?
Perhaps a 'shower' where M6G denizens send you BMR parts and misc. farkles to 'dress up' the new addition to the family?
Will there be much screaming at the hour of 'delivery'?

Yes, ask about the seat covers. Tell them you are going to have to pass if they don't provide Tob and me covers.
Love it, I will work on getting that in my contract!

Jaime: One might say that you are a masochist. <smiling> One long wait and then another and I'm very curious about many aspects but here are just a couple questions...

- Will SA actually HAVE the car in their possession for THAT long?

- I'm guessing that you don't plan to trailer the vehicle out there and back so I will presume they have a shipping company lined up?

I think that perhaps the option that excites me the most are the painted side stripes. :-)

That girl is going to be out of this world, just wish I could snap my fingers and put her in your garage, all finished up. <smile>

MOST happy for you, Jaime.

Curious does anybody now how they accomplish the widebody? Is it all steel?

PTD: You hit on one of my many questions as well. I'm going to guess it's a stamped piece, aluminum or steel.

But SA must have some REALLY good paint folks to be able to match the OEM perfectly and I'm sure they do.

Or since most of the wide bodies have SA front fenders, SA hood, SA rear quarters....maybe they just repaint the whole thing since 1/2 of it is new already. GT500SE is slightly less SA parts, be interesting to there approach and may depend on which color and metallics, would be a PITA to blend all those panels.

Since the 9 months starts when they take the car, I’m still trying to knock her up, lol. I wouldn’t be apposed to a baby shower thought

1. Yes, and probably longer I’m guessing.

2. I can get it there anyway I choose, but they do offer an enclosed trailer pickup & delivery. When I say offer, I they arrange it, and I pay for it. I will more than likely do this. I need to ask, but I assume my car will be covered if something happens during transport.

3. I was excited to learn the side stripes are also painted when you choose painted stripes. Ford doesn’t even offer vinyl side stripes when getting painted OTT stripes.

Besides the optioned painted stripes I went with, only the rear quarters and rocker panels are new to the car.

Edit: Oh, and the hood haha. Guess that’s one more question to add to the list.

PTD: Yes, it certainly would and after your post, I'm inclined to agree with a full paint job, especially since they're doing stripes as well.
