Installing intake and just removed sound tube. I cannot get the firewall plug in to save my life. Anyone else had this issue and what did you do?

I too had trouble getting the plug in. Eventually got it pretty much started and used a ratchet extension, relatively blunt end, to force it in. It definitely seems a hair too big for the hole but it'll go. Not sure if freezing it will shrink the plug just enough but could make it brittle

Spray a little WD40 on it, it's snug but it will pop in.

How did you get it to stay in place while you used the extension? It keeps falling out on me before I can get the extension down in there. This is kind of funny because I got the 10mm bolt out no problem.

Roll a piece of duct tape sticky side out . Stick it to the end of the extension .

I couldn't even get the sound tube Bolt from the top of the motor. When I did headers I was able to take the bolt off and put the plug in from the bottom or from under the car when it was jacked up. Definitely not the easiest thing to plug.

Probably one of the most not fun jobs on these cars LOL.

I do the duct tape method in house here too.

Sometimes I heat the cap up with a heat gun to get it more pliable for install. What your fighting is the outter edge of the cap pushing back. Same cap is used 2010+ just the location on the 2015+ is more the issue.

To put the plug in my car, I had my 13 year old cousin do it. :)
haha, small hands are key. I dropped a bolt down by the bottom of my radiator. My hand wouldn't even fit in the area where it was. I didn't really feel like taking the front pan off. So i asked my wife, hey see if you can grab that bolt down there. boom, no problem. :)
