JLT filter replacement

Ok stupid question. I ordered a replacement filter and the new one's end is closed and runs like crap when installed. Put the old one in and car runs fine. Did they redesign?? Did I order or get sent wrong item.

Its probably effecting the airflow by the maf, it wont be sucking in more air but the air may be tumbling differently causing erroneous readings.

Yeah apparently I'll need.to get a tune update as I can't this type anymore
