Couldn’t get past the 1st paragraph.

But the Mustang Mach 1 walks in the shadow of a giant, because it’s supposed to replace the irreplaceable Shelby GT350.
WRONG!!!

The GT350 ran its course and was discontinued, period. The Mach 1 was a new model for 2021. It is in no way a “replacement” for the GT350. Why? Because no Coyote based Mustang could ever replace the Voodoo. The Mach 1 turned out to be a great car based on its own merits. Trying to do a straight up comparison to a legend is pure clickbait. But this is R&T we’re talking about.

"So the Mach 1 is good. Great, even. But I’ve felt the GT350, sat dumbstruck as it rattled my bones, assaulted my ears, awakened my senses. It just doesn’t matter what the Mach 1 is. We’ve already seen what it could be."
Yeah but the Mach 1 won't have major engine issues as said Voodoo engine does. I love the GT350, but that is the most unreliable engine Ford has made in a while.

I keep hearing this but at the same time, they made a LOT of GT350's. 23,574 apparently. Anecdotally, everyone has read of someone having one blow up. And there was that timing chain activation goof up that probably killed a good number of infant engines. And there's even the harmonic issues causing things like the headers to come off and the AC compressor bolts to shear. And let's also consider a lot of these have been tracked and beaten on because it's hard not to.

Despite all of that, I doubt the actual statistics of failure are that high. Only Ford knows of course, and it's basically guaranteed that the rate is higher than the Coyote. But if we delete the failures from assembly error from the equation I'm sure it's not that far off.

With the gen 2 voodoo most of the engine failures seem to have gone away and those that do occur ...well most seem to come from one engine builder so if you have a gen 2 not built by that guy....the problem seems to have gone away

but if you drive hard you should check your oil ...that and no redline until car is warm

If you go to the F250 forums- my power stroke fuel pump is a ticking time bomb too that will result in 15K worth of damage- so between my ticking time bomb gt350 and my ticking time bomb F250 I guess I must be a gambling man lol
