That was a false rumor.I read somewhere that if you stay around 8000 rpm 8 seconds, redline goes below 6250 for 15 seconds or until you go below 5000 rpm. This sounds like that 1-4 gear bs GM has for corvette but much worse. I dont see Porsche limiting how long you can stay at 9000 rpm. I hope I read this wrong and its not as bad as it sounds....

It was more than a rumor as it was in an official document from Ford which I believe was for their sales people however, as stated, it wasn't true thankfully.Yeah IIRC that was inadvertently copied & pasted from the GT500 owner's manual....
Not to be picky on the technicals, the car is not capable of going to 8,000 RPM in 6th gear. Top speed of 170 MPH for this car in stock trim is achieved in 5th gear. Not enough HP to pull 6th gear to the top in a real world run, you could do it on a dyno with no wind resistance. Why would someone hold an rpm that high? Unless your at the top of 6 gear (overdrive) holding that rpm, you wouldn't be in that range of rpm more than 1-2 seconds.
