So i took my baby to the car wash today and upon drying her, I found this.

Looks like the paint peeled, and rust started forming?

Would warranty cover this? and if they do, how do they take care of something like this?

that's a good one. It looks like there is defects in the paint below the rust spot as well.

That be rust. I would think that the glass and weather stripping would need to come out to do a proper refinishing job as there could be additional corrosion hidden beneath as there could possibly be a leak thats causing all this.

I'm not too sure it's rust. Might look at it closer to verify. Looks more like something on top of the paint because I don't see any real depression in the paint where the discoloring is.

That is definitely rust, probably still a warranty issue at this point unless the can point to damage. That is a window out job too, had this on my Supra but it had the excuse of being 20 years old.

Maybe not as you say but it could be a prior repair or something done to that area. It looks as though something is under the paint or there was an attempt to touch it up from the chip/cracked like edges see below the discolored area.

Well guys, sigh of relief, today i went out and inspected the area again, it seems to be that who ever put my windshield on did a really sloppy job at it. It seems to be like glue of some sort.

It's amazing they decided to save money on weather stripping around the windshield. I've never see such huge gap around the windshield.

I see plenty of new cars without weatherstripping, it's not a Ford thing.

It drives me nuts seeing the sealant in the gap.
I had bird poop in the gap the other day.
