I appreciate the feedback. At least your dealer is honest enough to suspect there is an issue. My dealer didn't do anything but drive it. I'm going to take my car in again next week as well to a different dealer. I will keep everyone updated here as well.I took the car into the dealership, but they haven't yet had time to actually take it apart to fix/inspect it. Based on the information I gave them and their research, the service manager believes it to be a problem with either the clutch's pressure plate or throw out bearing.
Yep.I see the Mt-82’s are still up to the same old tricks! Sux man its under warranty, take her in!
NopeI just bought a new 2018 GT and its my first car to ever be in a v8 and over 200 hp. I've noticed something 'odd' and was wondering if it is something I need to get checked or not. I've had my car for almost a week and every time I up-shift with too much power on the throttle (say 1,000 rpm over what it should be) I notice a grinding sound and feel in the clutch pedal when I release it. It does not do this when shifting it correctly, only when I'm a bit too heavy on the gas pedal. Is this normal? I've never experienced this with past manual transmission cars, but they haven't been this powerful.
Edit: I made a recording of the sound showing the revs. It is louder outside the car than what you hear in the video. This was done by pushing the clutch in, reving to 4,000+ RPM, and releasing the clutch. I am not dumping the clutch for what its worth.
I hope my car doesn't have this problem. Should I get it high in the RPM band to test see if I hear it on the test drive?
Doubt the OP is still active.BUMP.
Maybe the OP could change the title to something more specific to the problem. I'm about to bring mine in to the dealer. Very irritating.
Yeah, I have that rattle noise as well, but it doesn’t bother me. It sounds like it’s coming from the clutch as well. Maybe it’s even related to the high rpm grind. I’ll take the car in Tuesday or Wednesday and go from there. Would have been nice if the OP of the thread had provided an update.Yea it's definitely weird. I thought our cars had no lift shift? That's how I drove my Mach 1 for over 14 years and never had a transmission or clutch issue. I basically had to re learn how to drive stick with this car. Does your car do the rattle noise at around 2000-2500 RPM in gears 1-3 under light acceleration? Look in the problems and issues section. Mine does but I'm not sure it's an engine issue.
