I stopped by the dealer today. Completed a quick road test with the shop foreman who confirmed the noise and created a repair order/ticket. He checked the system and didn't find any information regarding this issue. I took the car home while he waits to hear back from Ford regarding how to go about diagnosing/fixing the problem.

I wonder if this issue is related to the BBQ tick in some way. I have both this grind and tick issue (lucky me).

I never had this problem with mine. Shifted up/down without any issues whatsoever. Not at 50 miles or 6400 miles (where I'm at now).

Syncro's breaking in? Seriously? Either a clutch is center aligned correctly or it isn't. The only way to tell what's going on is to inspect the clutch surface for even engagement, check the wear on the center bearing. Hopefully there's no debris on the drain plug.
This issue only affects 2018 Mustang GTs. I assume yours is a 2017? I do agree with everything you're saying though.

I have a sound at clutch disengagement during up shifts... it doesn't have a grinding sound though... it sounds more like tearing paper or something similar. I know what a grind is and it's no that sound.
