It must not affect all devices/cars. I stream Pandora constantly on my iPhone 7 when in my Mustang and I haven't experienced any problems at all.

I actually have the same issue with a Sony Xperia Z5 premium since it runs Android 6.0.1. Before, no problem with this phone...
Tried an iPhone 5s with IOS 10 and it works fine.

With the Android I have a lot of bluetooth disconnections of the phone. It reconnects automatically after few seconds. It begins to be really boring !

So it's maybe the firmware version of Sync that is out of date ? Or the whole Sync 2 ?

My issue isn't with the bluetooth but when you connect it via usb. It won't work when you plug it in, only after you connect bluetooth, music starts playing, then you can switch to the usb option with your phone.

Very strange. I have noticed none of these problems. I have an iphone 7 Plus (128GB in case that matters) and have Sync 2 in my 15' GT Premium. I constantly stream Spotify using either Bluetooth or lightning/USB. Never had an issue so far.

Hey fsvec,

HizliBullet made a great suggestion! With the music streaming from the phone, what happens when you press the voice command button and say USB then PLAY?

I have a different issue with mine. Everything works fine, but if I plug the phone in via USB, then turn the car off to run into a store or something, then come back out, I've had no connectivity via bluetooth OR USB twice now. I have to shut the car down and let everything go to sleep then restart to fix. In fact, the first time it happened, I tried to delete and re-pair my phone from the car and the phone, but the car wouldn't even let me delete the phone from the bluetooth. Also, it wouldn't connect to Apple Car Play when plugged in. It all seems to happen if I shut off the car and then restart without unplugging my phone.

I have a 2015 Mustang GT. Bought it in December 2014. I had an iPhone 6 that worked flawlessly with my sync v2. I have the newest version of sync 2. Two weeks ago I bought the iPhone 7 Plus. Every time I'm using Bluetooth it cuts out on me. I'll be talking to somebody hands-free in my car over Bluetooth and it'll say disconnected from my phone and then it reconnects about 20 seconds later. It's very frustrating.

holy poop I had the exact same issue with my iphone 6 plus in my acura. It was insanely frustrating. Acura told me to turn my wireless off on the phone. It was super annoying, but it totally fixed the issue. Try that and see if it works.

It turns out it's only in the iPhone 7 plus, and it's something with the radio. Here is the statement I got after working extensively with Apple support:

"I hope you had a merry Christmas! I did get word back from engineering on the issue you were having with music stuttering and skipping when connected bluetooth to multiple car systems. According to our engineers as you mentioned earlier, we have been receiving official reports of this issue and they are currently investigating a fix for the issue. Right now they are saying ot keep the phone software up to date as the results of the investigation may come in the form of a software update or documentation. From the data they gathered from your phone specifically, they did give me a workaround to try until then. They said try turning off cellular data while listening to music to see if the same thing happens. They did also notate that being its not a hardware issue replacing the device would not resolve the issue. "
