Ok. I have a blacked out 2020 gt. My current Ipass box is in a black silicone sleeve and black Velcro to the windshield. They are switching me out to a sticker. Naturally the sticker backing is white. So my black car will have an ugly white sticker sticking out like a sore thumb.

has anyone had to deal with this? I see on Amazon they sell some plastic sleeves that you can be attached to the windshield…any idea if I can paint that thing black? Will it block the Ipass sticker?
I’m so annoyed about this lol

I feel your pain, and I'm not all blacked out. I have no answer to your question though...just wanted to commiserate.

On edit, maybe eyebrow tint across the top of your windshield?

I would try to tuck it underneath the headliner so it’s not on the glass. Make a few test passes to see if it registers, it should.

I still have the big unit in a black silicone sleeve like you. How did you get prompted to switch?

Black doublesided tape. However, I have a toll tag in Texas, and I stick it on the eyebrow, can't see it from the outside. So get the eyebrow.

It’s an auto swap. They are eliminating all the old boxes. At least for personal use. Not sure about commercial

Knock on wood, I've never put my registration sticker in my window, and never had an issue. It looks terrible. None of my vehicles have had a front plate or registration sticker. Even been pulled over, and usually I say sorry, it's in my glove box, I threw it in there in a rush one day and never thought to put it on.

Popo usually just run my tags, realize I am not a menace to society, and move on. But I also drive the speed limit and don't do dumb things on public streets, which I think helps LOL

I tried placing it just to the right of the rearview mirror and as high up as possible. It did not work there. Apparently, the electronics in the rearview mirror cover interfere with the sticker as I had several unpaid tolls. I was able to remove the sticker and move it down and towards the passenger side. Now, it looks like Rowdy Ram's ride. Even Illinois Toll Authority mentions to have it at least 4" from anything. Not a fan.

That’s why I want to put it on a holder so I can move it around if necessary. Hopefully it works where the previous box was so I don’t have to try to remove the adhesive from my window tint…

I got one of those new tags but haven't placed it yet. Do you think it could be placed on the visor and then flipped down when needed?
