M12x1.25, best place to get it is Lowes. Item number 29656So I checked the forums as to why mine wouldn't let me go into reverse and realized there was supposed to be a jam nut. What's the size, because I already threw the box away?
You could also back it off a few turns until it goes into reverse and then use blue loc-tite to hold it.So I checked the forums as to why mine wouldn't let me go into reverse and realized there was supposed to be a jam nut. What's the size, because I already threw the box away?
I thought about that but tested it out and it's way too tall for my liking. You could also back it off a few turns until it goes into reverse and then use blue loc-tite to hold it.
It won't be any different than with the jam nut. The jam nut could actually be shaved one whole thread and it would be perfectly set to give you the lowest height while still allowing full use of reverse lockout. Either one will give you the same height once you set it right.I thought about that but tested it out and it's way too tall for my liking.
Oh, all right. Well, I think I'll get the but regardless since I don't want to use purely loctite. But thanks for the help. I was wondering if others had used just loctite. It won't be any different than with the jam nut. I've had solely blue loctite on my flossy knob for the last 7 months with no issues. I plan to use it on this one as well (hoping it's not too much of a pain to crack the flossy off now...)Oh, all right. The one that comes with the knob yes. Mine is backed off a 1/4 turn or so to line up the shift patternIf you want a thinner nut CJPP has one: http://www.cjponyparts.com/jam-nut-shift-ball-12mm-x-125-2005-2013/p/HW3047/
Dumb question: Do I just crank the nut down low enough that I can still use reverse then pop the knob ontop of that?
Lucky you. I dunno when I'm getting mine.Knob:
