So I checked the forums as to why mine wouldn't let me go into reverse and realized there was supposed to be a jam nut. What's the size, because I already threw the box away?

You could also back it off a few turns until it goes into reverse and then use blue loc-tite to hold it.

I thought about that but tested it out and it's way too tall for my liking.

It won't be any different than with the jam nut. The jam nut could actually be shaved one whole thread and it would be perfectly set to give you the lowest height while still allowing full use of reverse lockout. Either one will give you the same height once you set it right.

Oh, all right. Well, I think I'll get the but regardless since I don't want to use purely loctite. But thanks for the help. I was wondering if others had used just loctite.

I've had solely blue loctite on my flossy knob for the last 7 months with no issues. I plan to use it on this one as well (hoping it's not too much of a pain to crack the flossy off now...)

Just an FYI. They sell thinner jam nuts. Also if you get one of those thinner jam nuts then I use a lock washer on top of the jam nut. The spring action allows complete adjustability of the knob to get it centered and it keeps it tight.

Using Loctite is crazy BTW. I have seen knobs split down the middle trying to get them off. I know the solid metal ones wont but they also might not come of as well. Not to mention the pressure you are putting on the shifter bushings.
