My wife puts more miles on the GT than I do. I often go weeks between driving it while she does almost daily.

I've noticed that when I drive it several days in a row, it would gradually develop a very slight grabbiness after a few days. My wife would notice it too. But after she has driven it for a few days, it goes away. Neither of us are hard on clutches. I don't detect any difference with how she uses the clutch compared to me.

But I definitely rev higher and more WOT in the gears. We both shift like babies.

I'm starting to wonder what the issue is with the grabiness.

Two possibilities I can think of are (1) my driving is getting a very small amount of some kind of fluid on the clutch, or (2) my driving is somehow resulting in clutch slipping/heating while in gear. Neither seem very likely.

Car has 40k miles on it and much of that were 800-1000 mile per day road trips.

Any ideas and how to verify?

Just my thoughts but it sounds like a throw-out bearing issue. Either a line leak or air in the system. It may also be a sticking finger on the clutch cover.

Thanks.

Any tips for confirming or eliminating some or all of those?

Look for fluid leaks around the clutch line connections and under the dash around the firewall. And as far as the sticking release fingers on the cover . You have to pull it apart to determine if any of the fingers on the cover are sticking or not fully releasing. If it were me and I was keeping the car I would replace the clutch with a quality unit and either resurface the flywheel or replace it as well. If you go the full route, spring for NEW flywheel and clutch bolts and torque to spec. Good Luck.

In today's world nothing is cheap any longer. So do it once and do it right .
