(sorry if this has been covered - tried searching, nothing specific came up)

I love the interior on my GT Premium PP - so many neat little touches that help it pop, and the leather feels great. However, there are also a few glaringly cheap plastic bits - I'm thinking the plastic surrounding the cupholders, on the top of the doors (just below the window), bottom of the doors and the glovebox. In my mind, some kind of wrap could serve 3 purposes:

- Preserve plastic beneath from getting scuffed, e.g. the doors and glovebox by my passenger's shoes
- Insulate/absorb some road noise
- Look and feel softer, plusher to the touch

Carbon fiber wrap is always a consideration, though the fashion police might shriek if it's near engine-turned aluminum. Brushed aluminum is awesome, but really really disappointing if it doesn't have the cold metallic texture to touch. Fake wood belongs in faux luxury sedans and on the side of my dad's station wagon. Something soft and leather-like would be ideal, to make the surfaces feel like the top of the center console cubby thing...

any ideas?

If I can find the post where someone wrapped their plasty bits in carbon fiber I'll be sure to post it here. It looked nice but I like the aluminum idea more and agree that without the texture it's kind of iffy.

CF or wrap CF?

There's always this option -

not sure how easy it is to pop off the door and console components, however. Would be so sweet if I could just lay a layer of leather-like something over the top, probably padded vinyl or something. Cover up the only part of the car that feels cheap and exposed.

The center area around the shifters is another bad spot. I am thinking about trying to get some sort of leather cover for the whole middle section. Would be a big improvement.

DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE GLOVE BOX. The glove box door is itself a passenger-side knee airbag and any kind of fiddling with it you do could potentially affect the safety of the passenger in a collision.

Very good to know, thanks.

Yeah, that's what I meant by area around the cupholders. Post back if you find a cool solution.

I ordered a roll of 3M white carbon fiber vinyl for my Oxford white GT/pp. I'll be wrapping various interior pieces with it.

Bumping this because I was thinking wrapping the panels in a felt fabric that's measured and cut, like the same stuff that's in the glasses holder on the driver side where the knee is. That'd be cool and make it look higher quality. Thoughts?
