Intake manifold options for GTs

So I was checking out the intake manifold and throttle body options for our GTs. The Cobra Jet and Boss seem to call for changing to an aftermarket cowl type hood. The GT350 appears to be a direct bolt on, but is almost 2x as much as the Boss manifold. Also, I think we need the gt350 throttle body, too. It's relatively cheap, at $250, but that brings the total cost up near $1500.

I know there are a million threads about the options and benefits of the specific changes, but what seems to be the most cost effective, pain free, and beneficial manifold for a bolt on GT? :shrug:

You're an auto? Put the money towards a converter. It will make a significant difference.

Actually you can get the GT350 IM and TB for a lot cheaper than $1500. JDM sells the combo for $1075, not sure what levittown or autonation sells it for.

Those are your options. For the price the Boss can't be beat, but you either need to notch the underside of the hood or use motor mounts to drop the motor 3/4". I'd probably go CJ over GT350 when you consider price and performance, but requires the same modifications as the Boss to fit.

I always look at the number of comments from people who make these threads and it's always under 50.. "Heyyyyy I'm new let me make zero effort." Next will be. "Guys I'm new here but I know it's probably never been talked about on these forums before so I'll just be the first to ask what cold air intake system is the best?" "And remember I'm a totally hardcore racer so if there is a Dyno graph it has to be hood closed or it doesn't count because #intherealworld." To be honest I don't even run an intake manifold I just let it go to the ports because #restriction.

Lol!! I mainly research and search, I find all the answers I need, but nobody knows that I exist.

I've been a member of tons of various car forums (see signature) and the ones that are the most interesting are the ones that are the most active. If we can't discuss similar topics and hear from new people, then the forums slow down a ton and eventually die because new people lose interest.

With that said, if a member posts a thread that you think has already been covered, then feel free to ignore that thread, and let other people engage in conversation.

I thought about an intake as my next mod, but a centri blower makes the most sense. I'm not dumping $1500 (with install) into an intake, when I can get a Beef special for $4K more
