Yah you're young. Ask for state minimums and shop around. They cant give you good quotes right now because the car isn't even out yet for them to fully evaluate so they give you a generic really high number.

That seems a little nutty, then. I got quoted about $1400 a year in New York.

My initial quote was $575 per year with full coverage and reasonable deductible (I think 1000). I am 40, married with two kids and a clean record. I would strongly recommend that you shop around!

At first glance mine showed ~$1800 a year for a manual GT... I'm 23 with a pretty clean record.

It will probably be a bit lower when I lessen how many miles I will drive it a year.

Must be location (I hope as I'm also 48)... Where did you look? I'm getting an Ecoboost and expect to pay up to around $1200/year. Most sites don't list the 2015 models properly.

Insurance costs vary based on location, age, type/amount of coverage, deductibles and different insurance companies to name a few, so it's hard to judge between different people unless you have the exact type of coverage, close in age and same location.
Best you can do is get quotes from several different companies.

My insurance went up after I sold my 2011 Gt and replaced it with a ram. Lol insurance company said the truck could cause more damage.
