Shannons , i wouldn't touch em , but many swear by them . Once i paid deposit for new GT i tried Shannons online and on phone for north of an hour and couldnt get a quote of them , good luck making a claim then . I got a quote from NRMA in 60 seconds ( have 3 other policies with them ) and it was surprisingly cheap . The value of insurance can only be assessed once you need to make a claim fwiw . Wrote of a Calais in 2011 when brisbane was under water , thought it would be a long drawn out thing but no , cash was in bank inside 4 working days . NRMA was great then but things change so put little weight on that today
i never had any problems with them staff were always friendly i ended up with 7 cars and my house with them for prob 30years
in recent years i have given away a few of my hotrods and customs which has cut it back a bit on the premium
i have never had a claim with my cars at all and one small claim with house
to get to the gist of it got my renewal in mail and it has gone up 33.7% wow
it has steadily grown over the years due to "FLOODS" "FIRES" etc as they say
OF COURSE SHANNONS HAVE NOT OWNED IT FOR ABOUT 12YEARS NOW
Just an old bugger having a rant and wondering if any others have same
thanks for reply Pete
cheers Dave
Wow thats ironic , i just paid my house/contents insurance this morning and that was about a 25% increase YOY . Fires , floods and inflation has its toll . Before i paid it i did get a few quotes elsewhere but nothing cheap enough to make me swap . FWIW my full comprehensive quote for new GT driving 10,000 km a year with $800 excess was $870 which i think is epic price tbh
mine is $860 it now has 203k i having big trouble replying to you friends use it when they visit they normally bring my other cars back and forth on ferry for me my puter about to die i think
