Couldn't find anything related to this question so here goes:
After almost 5 years in the US I'm moving back to Sweden this summer. Obviously I'll take my car with me
I've found a freight forwarder so that's sorted out, however the insurance is still an open question (for the transportation, by sea, from the port of NY to the port of Stockholm, SE).
The forwarder of course has an insurance option, this through a Swedish insurance company. However the premium is quite high at 4% of the insurance value.
I know it's theoretically possible to get a better deal than this because these other guys I talked to only had 1.7% (however they had other things going on so the first option is still the better one from a total cost and effort perspective).
Does anyone have any experience with insuring cars for transportation specifically? Any insurance companies you think are likely to take this one?
