Good evening Mustang owners,

I have searched the forums for similar, to no avail, so my question(s) to pose to you fortunate lot that are already running your new S550's...

Did you receive an insurance quote for your stock GT/EC, and then go on to add your modifications?

If so by what is the difference when the mods were taken into account?

I am preparing to make my order of a lovely RR GT and i will indeed add some aftermarket love to my baby, i have fished the market for insurance and so far £197 is my best quote, however, i have declared an after market exhaust and that figure rises to £492? is that about right??

Thanks in advance, would be good to see what your mods do to effect the premium..

Waiting to hear back from mine about my planned exhaust and spring mods. They charged nothing for the stripes

These are just quotes as I don't have the car yet but...

Lowest quote stock - £155
With Exhaust - £370 approx
With suspension changes, spacers, cosmetic changes such as emblems, tints, steering wheel - rises to £450-£500

I have yet to speak to anyone and I expect to be paying no more than around £400 fully modded. I would be ok with that.

In line with my experience of updating the exhaust and air intake. Basically as you declare the mod, they look up what the effect is on the insurance.

Steve,

Im looking at similar mods - exhaust, springs, tints, spacers...

Out of interest who are you using? i guess a few words on the phone should secure a good enough deal, I'm with you, i don't expect with mods to top the £500 mark...

My pre mod quote was £1000. It's not particularly high as I'm only just 23 and I've got a TS20. That was through Aviva.
Stuart,

Cheers for the Aviva heads up....

I've just completed an internet quote with 2 mods, tinted windows and exhaust (the other 2 mods i want are not listed)

£388 - actually quite happy with that to be fair....just the springs and spacers in a friendly phone call!

Manders Mustang Think you might be working two forums there buddy. Looks like you've inadvertently used the Mustang one for a message destined for a different type of "specialist" website. But hey - live and let live I say - what goes on between you and "Mr Insurance Company" is entirely your business - just be safe.

Lol! I don't work for any forum [emoji12] . But they may as well be doing me asking for 5.5k for a wrap to insure. Morons!
