Any one on here from the northeast portion of the country?
We're looking for a track that would offer beginner training as well as track time. I'm from Pennsylvania.

NJMP in Millville NJ (off Rte 55) offers three levels of "progressive paced laps" for those just getting into track driving. Includes classroom time and I think four 20 minute track sessions in an instructor-led/group follow format.

My first track day was with AutoInterests acclimation program (at Gingerman, but they also run Mid-Ohio and PittRace), and I'd recommend it. Classroom sessions and standing yellow track time with only other acclimation drivers in the morning, then an option to join the novice group in the afternoon. I enjoyed having the same instructor for every session (although he let me go out solo for the last run), as he was able to know where to pick up after the previous session.

My first track day was with 10/10ths at Putnam Park in Indiana. Good instructors and a low risk track. Might be a little far from you. It's a 3 hour drive for me and worth every second.

I second this. They run a good program and it is very hard to beat price-wise. Might be a bit of drive for you though.

Hey everyone, thank you for the responses. All of these choices are relatively close/doable.
I just need my car to show up and I'm off.

This is where I started last year... (last year) 1 events with beginner group (met Norm on first day). 3 events with intermediate. 4 or 5 now with experienced and still learning. I will be there this Friday. Moving on to other tracks up and down the east coast now. May join a club now.

njmp track days are a great events to learn (instruction by demonte motorsports)
