The Whipple filter element is conical like the Bullitt one. Actually, the stock Bullitt filter pulls air through the same access area as a stock GT. However, the Whipple setup actually seems better as it has a domed cover over the element as well as an open area next to the fender well. It's a very tight fit that really allows no air from the engine compartment at all. Doesn't look as cool, but likely better. The ambient air vs the intake temps are about 10 degrees higher. Whipple has just done an excellent job on the whole setup.
In fact, I'm looking for a used 2018 GT automatic to put another Whipple on as a compliment to my Bullitt !
