Technically all superchargers produce some boost at idle I would think. But the PD blowers produce more. Off idle most ramp up super fast whereas the Procharger I have is more linear, but with a 10 speed auto, you are in some serious HP rather quickly especially with the 355 axle.

there was a pissing contest? where? I completely forgot we were even having this conversation until you revived it. You seem to be pissing alone my friend.

"if you're careful" means not flooring it, not "driving like a girl scout". If you floor any boosted car its not going to "drive like its stock"; otherwise why would we spend around $10k on it? lol

you act like there is no way you are incorrect, when I am not the only one making this claim. But ok. Think what you want, it really makes no difference to me. Im not the one making claims that aren't true about a system I don't have. You are the ONLY person this entire thread that has disagreed, others even having PD blowers. I offered you to come test the car, yet you still seem personally offended about something.
I don’t care if you believe that your PD drives like stock. I had forgotten about this and didn’t care. But when I read through this posts I saw your rude comment. You could have disagreed without being rude. I disagree with you and that’s fine. Doesn’t mean you need to be rude. Your so set on me being wrong but Did you ever think maybe you are wrong

A centrifugal doesn’t make boost at idle. It does move air if that’s what you mean. but not enough to make boost

If it were just me..then yeah i could be wrong. But when you see countless people agree..and even my tuners at lund agree and tell me not to go into boost until my tune is ready.....and you are talking about a system you dont have and that ive offered you to drive..then thats different.

I apologize if i was being rude. I interpreted what you said as coming off rude. If i misunderstood i apologize. Text is hard to tell the context at times. But you came off as very matter of fact, stating that my car definitely does not drive like stock. Thats not a very conversation starting way to go about things.

My opinion is that they don’t drive like stock. That’s all just my opinion. I’m not the end all be all of mustangs. I understand that text messages are easy to interpret wrong. No harm no foul

I had three manual transmission supercharged Mustang gts. My 2009 bullet I put a vortec on and it drove and ran absolutely excellent like stock. Then on my 2011 brembo Mustang GT I had a roush supercharger installed and it ran absolutely excellent just like stock with a giant engine in it and lots of torque. And then in my bullet with the Whipple again it ran like stock and every way and actually idle better period but the two automatic transmission mustangs I had both did not drive like stock it was the shifting that was always the issue . I had Palm Beach Dino Lund alternative Auto ProCharger tunes. They just don't shift like they do naturally aspirated. That's what makes the GT500 so attractive is that I'm sure the shifting is like it was made to do it.

Alternative Auto haven’t heard that name in forever. They ported and polished my heads on 88 5.0 and Lidio was the tuner.

Fair enough. The offer still stands to check mine out if you are ever in the area.

I'll be home installing a PD style supercharger this winter. It's cold and snowy in Minnesota so I have all the time in the world to get this done. I got the Gen3R budget kit. Only difference between it and the full kit are different throttle body, CAI, and heat exchanger. I'll drive the car in the lowest boost option available for the GEN3R for a year, then decide if I want more. If I do, I'll build the bottom end, add long tubes, go return fuel system, and then start cranking up the boost.
In the mean time, I'll add some comments for questions asked in this thread and what my research led me to believe:

1) OPG/CS: If you're doing a centri blower, it's the same labor to do it separately as together with the blower. However, with a PD blower, you already have half the top end of the engine disassembled, coolant drained, etc. You're halfway there. Not to mention if you do the OPG at the same time, you can modify the timing cover off the car and you don't have to worry about aluminum shavings getting into the engine. I will be doing mine at the same time.

1A) OPG/CS part 2: Yes it is more work. I fully anticipate that the OPG/CS will add a full day or more to my install. Like I mentioned, all the time in the world. A few things you need to know: A) You will need a balancer puller and at least a longer balancer bolt or an installer to put the balancer back on. B) you will need a torque wrench that can do in/lb. There are bolts you don't want to do by feel when you crack the engine open. C) The cam timing is no big deal. There are plenty of youtube videos on EXACTLY how to do it D) I am replacing my balancer bolt with an ARP piece. Depending on who you ask, the Ford piece is a one time use bolt. I'm not risking it.

2) I am buying a vacuum tool to draw a vacuum on both the cooling system and the intercooler system when I go to fill it. You can get them as cheap as $30 on eBay and it should get rid of most if not all the problems of air getting trapped in the cooling system/intercooler system.

3) I am getting hood struts to lift the hood instead of using the prop rod. I can already tell that the prop rod is going to be a pain in the ass.

Some other things:

I will upgrade from the kit 56# injectors to 1000cc FICs or DWs before upping the power.
If during logs it shows I'm running out of pump I'll put in a return system instead of a BAP since I know eventually I'll need the fuel anyway.
I'm putting in a one piece driveshaft.

Also, I saw a couple people asking about E85. Don't do it without a fuel system (assuming you're going FI). You're just asking for it to blow up.

Once I start my build I'll take lots of pics.
