I bought a set of US rear side marker lights a couple of weeks ago. The part itself can be exchanged very easily - just don't break off the Clips ;-)
Hooking them up to a power supply though proves difficult as the EU specs uses different wiring from the US spec. Does anybody have any good ideas as to where to tag into a suitable power supply (side markers will use LEDs)?

Thanks

caniggia mentioned the other day, that you can take power from license plate lights. But you need to remove the bumper.

Thanks friendgr !

Do you know if there are any wiring diagrams available online? As the main power supply goes through the trunk, perhaps I'd be able to access the plate light wiring from there.

Here's the wiring from the US car. It makes sense to splice into the license plate lamps because that's how they do it. The rear bumper will have to come off by the looks of it. The pigtail kit for C481 & C482 is listed as: WPT-1243.

Thanks FrozenPea, the Body Control Module is that the green module on either side of the car mounted to the rear wall of the trunk just below the tail light access point?

if you refer to this, IMO it's a FM antenna module :D

Edit:
If you follow that black covered cable, you can find about half way a group of wires going down. These most probably are the licence plate light wires. However if you find the wires you need _inside_ the trunk, you have the problem on how go out in a 'waterproof' way :)

Splicing wires outside trunk, near the licence plate lights it's the way to go.

The BCM is in the front of the car (behind the right side kick panel I think).

Those pigtails are around $30 each, do you think if we bought the rear lights wiring harness we could snip the connectors off and use them? It's only $25.
