Install Mustang Active Exhaust on 2015+ (Wireless - Plug and Play)

These steps require no wire cutting, just plug and play, using cheap wireless electronic valve actuator.

Parts needed:
1- Active exhaust.

2- 1 Electronic valve blue box and 2 electric valve actuators (Purchased from aliexpress for $50).

3- 2 Valve actuator springs (Purchased from aliexpress for $30).

Before installing the active exhaust:
1- Bumper/diffuser replacement to a quad tips (2015+).
Or cut the diffuser to make space for the quad tips (2015-2017, 2024+).
Or use roush diffuser (2015-2017).

2- Remove your old exhaust and install the new active exhaust.

After installing the active exhaust:
1- Install the valve actuators on the active exhaust.
2- Run the wires inside the trunk from below.
3- Install the blue box inside the trunk.
4- Run the wires to cigarette lighter power supply.

Read:
Make sure you purchase an electronic valve kit that has two valve actuator inlet (the blue box), same as the picture.
Make sure you purchase the valve acutators that fits in the active exhaust, same as the picture.

I've had issues with aliexpdess.item billed but nnever receivef.broken just in a couple months no refund.very long shipping here's an article on them.ive had other orders that worked fine like head light for my wife's car

To clarify, I'm not sponsoring AliExpress, but it's likely that any item you see for sale is probably dropshipped—bought from AliExpress or any Chinese website and sent directly to you.
I think AliExpress has changed a lot. Back in 2015, shipping took between 3 weeks and 1 month. Nowadays, I receive the items within 8-10 days.
AliExpress is a website that hosts many stores, it's important to check the reviews of the store or item before making any purchases, much like eBay.

I'm wondering if those cheaper actuators are a direct plug and play replacement for the OEM ones. My right one acts up from time to time. The Ford ones are expensive.

I dont think so, because the harness wire is different than the OEM, only the actuator springs are the same.

Everything works great! Opens and closes fast, the remote also has partial opening; if you don't want the exhaust to be so loud, you can half open, are any open position you want.

After removing your old mufflers and installing the active exhaust mufflers. Its plug and play:
1. Screw the actuators on the active exhaust (Don't forget to place the springs).
2. Tighten the screws.
3. Run the wires from the active exhaust below to inside the trunk using the additional spare tire hole (Right one).
4. Install the blue box anywhere safe inside the trunk.
5. Run the wires to cigarette lighter power supply.
6. Use the remote to open or close the valve actuator.
(Look at the picture above on how the wires are connected to the blue box)
