Please explain xzilon as I am looking into doing the clear bra myself. However if ford dealers order something such like this then I won't mind having them do it when the car comes in so I can take it from the dealer already clear bra'd
I don't know much about it really. We have it on the Lincoln and it still looks new. Put xzilon in on YouTube there's some vids idk how real but there's one where he wipes off spray paint lol

I plan to get OptiCoat 2.0 put on my car (obviously not done myself). Will probably cost $500-$600 or so. Not just the front bumper though, all over the car.

I tend to attract the jerks that like to hit my car with their car doors in parking lots when I'm not around. So I figure another layer of protection over the paint would be a good thing.

I was assuming opticoat application would cost closer to $1000-$1200. What area of the country are you in if you don't mind me asking?

My detailer only charged me about $200 to do the entire car, windows, and face of the wheels. I think it was a little less than that actually.

You can see his work and the effect of the opticoating as well.
Sorry you need facebook to view it, he doesnt have another website.

I talked to my dealer about this, and they have a shop come out and install it, it was $600 I think... They do the hood either 12 or 18 inches the top of the front fascia the fender edges, the door edges, the door handle cups, and the headlights.

Weird. My dealer is charging 300 for the full car exterior and interior. Supposedly if you get a scuff they will pay to fix it under warranty

Now I'm wondering if the price I think i saw was for another protective service. (I'm in Wilmington, NC).

I'll have to call the place that I know does it here and get a quote. I'll do that today and post back here so you have something to base off of.

I do know that you can buy it yourself and do it for less than $100. But I wouldn't wanna deal with it going on uneven and being streaky and drying with ridges. It can be easy to mess it up.

Yea, I know I was gonna get a quite awhile ago. Fail lol. I got it today. Since it won't need any paint correction from scratches or gouges and such, it'll be about $500. I'm taking it this Saturday for an in person inspection and written quote and to possibly schedule getting it done. It comes with a 5 year warranty. It's supposed to last indefinitely according to the manufacturer, but the guy was pretty upfront in saying it will most likely wear down over time. But for 5 years of a warranty to protect my paint, I'm sold :). Anything beyond the 5 years will be bonus and if I'm still driving Roxy then I'll just get it done again if needed.

I just had Xpel Ultimate put on my Race Red GT yesterday. It comes with a 5 year warranty. It is self repairing. I paid $640 for the the main impact areas that rocks would likely hit (18" of hood, front parts of fenders, whole bumper, all lights, side view mirrors). The installer even put some on the door where the handles are at, so you're nails don't scratch the paint. He said that you make sure that where ever you go, that they wrap all around the front lip of the hood. Some installers won't bother opening your hood to wrap all the way to the inside of the lip. Good luck.

And while you're at it, have them put some on the bottom 2" of the trunk door. I had him install some there cause it's black and that's where I'll constantly be touching to close the trunk. That was also included in the $640.

Just letting you know XPEL ultimate has a 10 year warranty and the standard XPEL which is very similar to 3M Ventureshield has a 5 year warranty.

Sorry but I got the names confused. He did use SunTek on my car. But what ever I said about Xpel was meant to be said about Suntek. It is better than 3M and self repairs. Don't know how it compares to Xpel Ultimate. I asked the installer why he used SunTek instead of Xpel Ultimate, he said that the finish is better. Just his opinion?

Got the OptiCoat done today. I'm really happy with the deep glossy shine it added. Made the color pop nicely. And the place I got it done gives a 5 year warranty on it which is nice. They did the entire car (glass and rims included) for $500. Attaching a pic in the sun and one in the shade.

I just had optimum gloss coat applied over the weekend. The guy did all the prep work, some light paint correction and applied to car, jambs and wheels. Cost $250 said it should last a year or two. Looks great.
