Inspection Question - "Unready" - Tune Related?

Hey Gang,

Need to get a sticker in NH. Picked up a used 17 GT K&N Intake, Poweraid Throttlespacer, MBRP exhaust, BAMA Tune. Car is coming back "unready" and cant pass because of that. Not sure if its because the battery died over the winter or if its because of the tune.

I am thinking Tune and i spoke with Bama support, they said its likely the intake and i'd have to get a new tune to pass. Which i get as i am not the original owner.

Does this make sense to get it to show as ready? Show i pay Bama for a tune or are their custom tuners that come recommended?

It's not the intake, it's the tune. Either go back to the stock tune or find a tuner that will turn off the rear O2's.

Intake shouldn't really have anything to do with it. Keep in mind that if you haven't put many miles on it since the battery died, it may just take a few drive cycles to reset all the monitors. Sometimes it can take a good bit of time and mileage for everything to read "ready."

I agree with the battery.
I had mine die and it took a few days of driving and about 100 miles before the monitors showed ready.
Also, I had to put the stock tune back.

Hopefully just the battery being disconnected. And fortunately, there's an easy way to tell if the readiness codes are set on your car or not. Watch the check engine light when you first turn ignition on, and If it blinks 8 times, the codes are not set. If it's solid, then at least 2 out of 3 are set, which is the requirement for a pass. In your case, they might never set now, but when you make the necessary changes, you'll know when your car is ready for inspection. Hope this helps.

Ready codes depend on the state. NY requires all monitors to be ready to pass inspection.
