Individual Throttle Bodies

In my endless search of the internet to find ways to get more power from an N/A engine I've stumbled upon ITB's. I love the idea of of them but was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I know there are a few available but what kind of results could I expect? I know much more power can be made with FI but that isn't a route I want to go. Is this too crazy of an idea to be entertaining?..

Most tuners will tell you to skip the TB, and invest in something else.

If your car is not your daily driver you can send it in to be bored out to 84.5-85mm then polish it. Cost is 1/4 the price of BBK or Accufab

I think hes talking about Individual Throttle Bodies, as in eight separate throttle bodies.

I actually looked this up and they look pretty cool. Unique for sure.

Generally these are made for fully built Na motors. High compression, aggressive cams,port and polished heads, etc. otherwise you won't make much use of them.

I have a good but of experience with them and they are not for the faint of heart or the thin of wallet lol.

Since nobody makes them for our car and you would be getting into full development of parts AND tuning I'd guess a minimum of $10k.

A few hardcore folks on the S2K board doing max NA builds moved to ITBs, thousands for parts (lots of supporting components), complex tuning. I think moving to this from an OEM engine that didn't have them is way too radical.

I think at the end of the day, with cams finally being released there's two "reasonable" paths to big power:

1) FI
2) NA build with intake, LTs, exhaust, manifold, TB, cams

Thanks for all the replies! Obviously this would be done after cams, port/polish, etc... Just curious if anyone had seen this on the last gen mustangs or something comparable to ours. I'm sure by the time I can afford it someone will already have done it on an S550.

I've seen the system I posted on a custom 34 Ford hot rod. It was a really nice set up.
