If you don't want the story, skip to the end.

:rant:Warning, contains a rant at some point!:eek::rant:

On August 11th, after years and years of saying I was to buy a mustang (10-11 years), I finally put my deposit down after persuading the parents to get off my case about it (No they are not paying for it, just to confirm), this was after a test drive in late july in the states, which, after seeing my sheer excitement and the smile that couldn't be wiped off what could normally be described as a 'resting b1tch face'/emotionless then 20-year old.

After talks with the dealer and getting the Nav/Shaker Pro pack added to my car, agreeing the spec - Race Red with Black interior and Manual Fastback (Of course). I was told 'Late July, August' for the delivery. No problems there, I was planning to wait until September, to pick up the new plates, i'd specifically told my dealer that if a car was available in June/July time that I would purchase it but not take it off his hands until September 1st 2016 - Because of the new plate (and for financing reasons).

A month on into september, I turned 21, I got promoted, and financials looked better - especially in the case of the mustang.

Late october hit and I was emailed by my dealer informing me that my car was to be built by the end of 2015! And then that my car would be with me by march - fantastic, that's 6 months ahead of schedule, absolutley brilliant. Little did I realise this was the start of a massive backlog.

I called my dealer the next day and he said my car was to be built November 11th, I calculated the dates, worked out the financing and contacted my wrap company (Who if you've followed any of my posts, will know are doing a one off colour for my mustang and a special few extras)
etc. Began to call the dealer every few days confirming things I needed etc, and then joined Mustangforum.uk (And then shortly after - here).

On november 15th I was called to tell me my car hadn't been built for a number of reasons. During the call my dealer also informed me that my car would be built by the end of 2015 (And then to cover his back said:) "Still way within the 12 months!" (which i agree with).

After parading these forums and pestering the knowledgeable gents, and kind resourceful souls we've got here, I came across Andy's contact details, which lead to Karen's as well.

Once contacting Karen I was told my car was hopeful for end of December, but not likely, however early Jan was likely. On december 18th, I was informed that my car was 'locked-in'. Which, I could only assume meant it was to be built soon after the plant reopened from christmas break.

Jan hit and I began my emails to Karen for updates, bless her soul she's probably got annoyed with me emailing her by now ! I was stillt old No update repeatedly, but my stubborn nature had to keep going, never giving up just on the hope of knowing a smidge of information!

Earlier this week I got an email stacey that changed all of this - I was told that my Car >HAD been built< i was on training that day, I was over the moon, I told everyone and anyone, and i'm sure they're sick of me talking about my Mustang, It was a 'Oh my god its hopefully coming in March!'.

On Wednesday this changed, I got an Email from Karen telling me i'd got a VIN and my car was to be built WEEK COMMENCING FEB 1ST? (Hang on a minute, didn't Stacey tell me it was already built?). This confused me so i questioned Karen.

Today I got my response, and it's annoyed the hell out of me, It's true, my car won't be built until w/c feb 1st.

Now, for those that skipped my life story above, the shortened version is this. I'm not annoyed that my car is ahead of schedule, i'm not annoyed that my car will be coming in the middle of the reg plate period. I am annoyed that i've been given so much misinformation, so much broken promises, and it just feels like a massive farce that all of these issues can go on, before i've even got my car! No, I won't be cancelling my order, hell f**king no, Ford are lucky that this car holds an incredibly special place in my heart and life, and that it's actually an incredible piece of machinery because otherwise, I would be purely based on the fact of being p!ssed around with different dates and the broken promises.

I'm generally a guy that looks on the positives, i'm happy that at this age I can afford a car like this, that I can make my dreams happen, that i'm doing it on my own, because I want to, I'm happy that there are people like Karen and Andy about that care about customer service and are willing to put up with, what can only be describe as my passive-aggro style of typing (I usually mean most things in jest!).

Rant over :rant::rant:
All I can say is 'join the club' and just be thankful that you have only had the lack of and mis information since August and not April 1014 like some of us have!

The irony of this statement is he was known as 'Unready' maybe ford deemed him unworthy and made him wait until now!!!!!

lol, I was going to edit my mistake but I think I will leave it. Mind you, it really does feel like I have waited that long.
Yeah leave it in! adds some humour to an otherwise serious topic of me having a little rant :lol:

Just my 2p's worth ....

Ford collectively pretty much don't give a shit I'm afraid. I went into my dealer just under a year ago with a deposit cheque in my wallet made out for ÂŁ1000 and a completed order/reservation/yes I'm interested in a Mustang form or whatever it was supposed to be. You could sense right away speaking to them that the whole thing was destined to be a bit of a fiasco ... just like it has been. So I decided to wait until some cars actually arrived .. to take demo out and see the colours in person to see which one I was having. No problem .. By October time I was calling into the dealers every 2 or 3 weeks to see what was happening... Looking back on it now the BS really pisses me off - 'yes the minute the first one is here I'll call you to come and check it out' .. it didn't happen needless to say .. so I'm still calling in at the dealers every couple of weeks as we head towards Christmas and there's plenty of cars appearing there but still no demo .. more promises to call me 'yes once we have a demo you can take it out for a couple of hours on your own' - more BS that never materialized. Now I've just given up. Currently looking round at other ( mostly German ) stuff, even just browsing around they treat you real proper and amazingly well, putting forward all kinds of incentives to try and make a deal without any pressure... All very civilised and decent .. ready built cars available within a few weeks or can have a factory order guaranteed to dealer in 3 months max .. Just no BS, all very matter of fact ... I'll have a RHD Mustang within the next year or two, new or secondhand I'm not sure .. maybe when Ford decide they can treat you decently if that ever happens ??? .. Silly as it might sound its actually really nice to have just stepped away from the whole UK Mustang thing right now after obsessing about it for so long.

To be fair the one thing i agree with in regards to my dealership is the whole test drive thing, we were told they would call us...almost as a priority with the other deposit payers, then when it happened on around jan 15 i found out a day later on this website the car arrived on the first week in dec 15. Although im in the position ive now waited since may last year and only got 2 months to go!!

Ditto since March.

Although there has been an overall issue with Ford, I think the dealer experience is still dependent on local management. Toploader 's experience with the German marques is the opposite to mine. Before the Mustang became a reality I was trying to buy an Audi. Yes, you can have a 24 test drive as soon as one arrives (etron), yes we'll call you etc etc. Nothing. Something to do with me not needing any finance I think.

Agree, my Dealer told me in the middle of December they would put their GT on the road early January and would contact me for a test drive, but despite me asking, I'm still waiting.

Perhaps they can't be bothered because I've already ordered.....

To be fair, regarding demo car's, my dealership has a 'demo' but it's not a test drive demo, just a look round car.
They're not getting their 5L gt test drive Demo until >FEB 16<. With no knowledge of a EB demo.

Overall, the customer service, or at least the management of expectations side has been pretty poor, which saddens me greatly.

Sorry to hear that Manders Mustang :paddle:

Just a quick question: have you got your VIN in order to check your Window Sticker?

I guess we both are expecting same delivery dates....what does your blend date in the window sticker states?

I've got my VIN, no window sticker (not that I can find it when searching on Research Maniacs site), Karen said it's got a build date of W/C 1st Feb on their system, which 12 weeks on from, means W/c April 25th delivery. I'll taken Karens word for the 1st feb, however, as before and stated in my rant, I'm not holding my breath on that one - Too many broken promises and let down expectations.

Looks like we might be on the same boat - depends how this storm goes and my car goes for that matter haha!

I am checking ETIS/RM daily for any changes, none since I got the vin (a week ago today). Should expect updates Friday/Monday next week but that wont stop me checking :headbang:

Also checking ETIS/RM daily!

On RM my window sticker apeared TODAY. Blend date "20160129", that is why I was asking about yours....

With that blend date, I expect build for this friday then. Originally I was told 25 Jan. so pretty close  :tsk:

Check tomorrow, looking for good news. ETIS should update a couple of days after the car has been build. Currently date is stuck on "30.11.0002"
