There is a slot there still but we found the built in SD slot on the back was working better so had that changed.

When will I be able to purchase a unit? Just so I can be more ready when there available. I think you will be selling out of these units fast for a while. Thanks again for the hard work!

All in stock orders are shipping out tomorrow!

There was a slight change with the unit last minute. The SD slot is now on the back of the unit for better performance. The nav maps are already loaded in there. For any future updates the supplied USB cable would be used which can be easily ran into the glovebox.
Using the SD slot in the back disables the slot in the front and it becomes useless, what if the users wanted to change or the upgrade the navigation software? They'd need to take the unit out and unscrew it (which i think tears the warranty seal)

He said in the post that updates will be done through the 3rd usb cable supplied with the unit.

Personally, I'll probably continue to use Waze or Apple Maps, mirrored onto the unit, if that works well. I use my phone in my wife's Cherokee because the actual Nav system sucks....

Dude stop spreading misinformation about this system. For map updates you would just unbolt whole bezel and and sd slot is right on the top. No breaking any seals, no voiding warranty etc. not as easy as in front but takes less than 5 minutes to swap out the sd card for another.

You have posted in several threads about replacement units, Raxiom's, Sintegration, Add MyFord Touch, and this one; in each thread, you indicate that you have THAT unit in your car.

It seems that you believe they are all the same, although with different OS; how do you know this?
Have a look at my post 3 months ago and you'll know how i know being the first member on this forum to get this unit and share the details with you guys:

Moddiction unit IS SINTEGRATE UNIT!
Rosen unit IS SINTEGRATE UNIT!
Raxiom unit IS SINTEGRATE UNIT!

Rosen:
j6tEMhU.webp

Moddiction:
f6K5CFf.webp

DUH!
Rosen putting their sticker on the unit doesn't make the unit MADE BY ROSEN, LOL

Could you please show me my post where i said i had MyFord Touch?

I dunno why you guys are attacking me, I'm just trying to tell you that performance-wise there's no difference in using the back slot or the front one.
I don't think I attacked you, I stated that you believe they are all the same unit (maybe they are); I simply asked how you know this.

The hardware in the pictures certainly look like they may be the same unit but I wouldn't say it's inconclusive; plus, unless I'm mistaken, you stated they had different OS, correct? Different OS can make a helluva difference in the performance of a piece of hardware.

I agree that using the SD slot in the back makes updating the maps more difficult, if you needed to swap the cards, but Moddiction answered it can be accomplished via the USB cable, so no harm, no foul.

I'm not looking to start a fight, but I think that, until someone has THIS specific unit (i.e. - the one we purchased last week from Moddiction) in their vehicle, everything else is speculation; except for the installation process, which will be pretty much the same for all these units.

1. I said there's a difference in the software between this unit and Tomtop's but I'm sure that this and Rosen's are the same on every level.
2. You cannot update maps via USB cable, the cable is only for software updates.

And again, this unit is the best out there.
