I transferred the new nextgen nav from my flash drive to the SD card on the back. It took about ten minutes to transfer the files but much better then taking the dash apart. By the way X0AYHAM0X's version of nextgen works great.
That's pretty awesome! and, yes, his version of nextgen works great! I just can't use it because of my 'P' issue....

Really not trying to pile on but has anyone else had this issue...

When I run Nav, my music take FOREVER to skip or sometimes just stops. I am not sure whether it is waiting to skip or just frozen up so I have to exit out of Nav to the audio screen to check. It isn't a couple seconds of lag, it's like a full 10-15 seconds...
Seems to occur when Nav is going. I thought I saw it mentioned once somewhere. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Not bad at at all. I'd rather let it copy for ten minutes while I'm in the kitchen sipping iced tea than be in my 100 degree garage messing with my dash

LOL, my solution today was to add another dongle to the mix, I bought one of those micro SD extender cables, stuck it in the back slot, duct taped the cable to the back of the unit (hoping it will stay seated) and dropped the dongle into the glove box. First pass, it worked!

If I can do updates via the USB port, I may just stick the card back in the back.

Holy crap! We have workarounds for our workarounds...

I put a 32gb Sd card in the back And now I can do everything via the USB cable and I have nextgen and premium on the ad pluse a bunch of movies and I can change what's on the ad anytime without taking the dash apart. I'll post a video of how to later today.

Awesome, if it's pretty straight-forward, I'll ditch the new SD cable. I'm just afraid that, sooner or later, it will unseat itself at some inopportune time, like when I'm in the middle of nowhere, using the GPS.

Are the music files and Nav software both on the SD card? If so, maybe a bottleneck in the system trying to process the Nav software and music files at same time from same source?

When I run Nav and music files either from the Sync USB port in the center console, or from the Moddiction unit's USB dongle in the glove box, I haven't noticed any significant delay.

Nope, music is on USB (can't remember if it happens when I use BT, but I think it did.) I also really notice it when there are additional images/directions like highway exit signs for my route. It's like the system is bogging down and can't handle it all and causing it to lag.

Sorry, then, I got nothing else.

Maybe X0AYHAM0X will have some ideas?

Great job finding a way to write files to the SD card from the USB port. In the situation I had with my NAV program corrupting, I don't think that the workaround would have worked, since opening the NAV was initially required. So this workaround looks like it'll work for most issues, but in the event the NAV corrupts, it may not.

Thoughts?

If you transfer the app to the sd card then it will not matter because you don't need to open the nav for it to work.
