Hello Everyone,

*****Kinda long post, sorry*******

Although i've had many Mustangs in the past this is my 3rd S550. My first was a 15' EB premium PP, A6. Really liked the car but hated the exhaust sound. Traded it for a 15' GT premium.

I like the GT but hated the suspension. It felt really floaty. Kinda scared me a little when I was going pretty fast. Installed the FR Track Pack suspension. No more floating or bouncing but a little too hard on bumps. Next thing i really disliked was the MT82. It's a total crap shoot whether you get a good one or not. Seems quality control is hit or miss. Mine sucked pretty bad. Changed out the trans fluid to full synthetic, installed an MGW shifter, stainless steel clutch line and Steed clutch spring. Was better but it was super notchy and i just started to hate driving the car. Thought about swapping the trans out for a Maxim XL but really didn't want to sink any more money into it.

The exhaust was pretty lame stock so i put a Corsa Extreme cat back exhaust on. Sounded good but at times it was a little too loud. Once i put the Ford Performance Power Pack 2 on the car was a little on the raspy side. I posted to see if someone wanted to trade the Extreme's for Sports but couldn't get anyone to trade with me so i took it off and reinstalled the stock exhaust and took the suit case resonator off and put a CJ Pony Parts H-pipe on.

I always wanted a Corvette and especially a C7 but prices were really high even on used ones. I ended up trading the GT for a 2009 C6 Atomic orange A6 LT. It was a base model, one owner with only 30K miles. After about 6 months i really didn't like driving it any longer. It just wasn't a car for me. I have a daily driver on week days but i found myself not wanting to drive the vet even on my days off. I guess i checked the Corvette off my always wanted list. It's a great car but it's not a car i wanted to keep long term.

So after much deliberation i picked up a 2018 GT. It has all the options i had to have if i was to get another Mustang. A10, Performance Pack, Active Exhaust, Magne Ride suspension and cloth seats in Ingot Silver.

No dealerships in my area had the options i wanted so i ended finding one at Koons Ford in Baltimore, MD. My salesman Kirby was great to work with. The car had all the options and color i wanted but it also had navigation and security package. I could of skipped on those 2 options but now that i have the car i'm glad i have it.

Since Ford just announced generous cash back on 2018 Mustangs and Koons Ford has a good dealer discount i was able to get my car a great price. I got my financing secured at my local credit union so all i had to do was drive up to MD from Florida and swap my Corvette for the new GT. It was a pretty simple transaction once I got there. Everything went smooth and I was out of there with the new GT. Was a totally long ass ride up and back but definitely worth it.

My impression of the new 18' GT. Much much better than my 15' GT. I really didn't like the new face lift on the 18's when they came out but i do like them now. Looks more aggressive. Love the new hood. Love the sculptured hood and that its lower and better to see over when driving. The A10 is a hugh improvement over my crappy MT82 or my EB PP with A6. Shifts super fast and quick. Didn't get the PP last GT but this time it was a must. I'll say the PP with the Magne Ride is PERFECT for me. Car feels like it glued to the road. Also i love the Active Valve exhaust. I can start the car on quiet mode and not annoy neighbors and i can put it on track mode which sounds awesome. No more need to get after market exhausts and hope I like it. The new Sync 3 is great. Stereo sounds really good and i don't feel like i need to change it out to an aftermarket. I bought a Pioneer 2300 Nex for the Corvette and i was going to use it on the GT if i got the little tiny screen version but glad i have the Nav with the bigger screen. I've read where Metra and Sosche radio kits are hit or miss and pretty expensive.

Anyways sorry for the long post but so glad i got the 18' GT it is a much nicer car than the 15' GT premium i had.

Koons ford is hard to beat. I traded in my 13 and had a good experience. I fortunately must have gotten a "good" mt82, because with the MGW shifter and BG fluid, It is silky smooth once warm.

Congrats on the new car! It looks nice! Probably not much to change either, doesn't even look like it needs lowered.

I had a 12’ SS Camaro and that car also was notchy but better after the MGW shifter, full synthetic fluid, stainless steel clutch line but not as bad as my MT82. I just couldn’t take another chance on getting a notchy shifting manual so it was the A10 for me.

Yea there’s not much I think I’m going to do besides tint. Thinking about maybe doing the LCD instrument swap down the road. I’ll have to read up on it more and see how difficult of a job it is.

Also forgot to mention my 15’ GT the panel gaps were pretty bad. The new 18’ is much better. All panels line up great and no piss poor gaps.

The leather on my 15 GT premium were comfortable but the leather started to look stretched so this time I opted for the cloth seats. To be honest they are very comfortable and supportive. I think there better than the 15’s were.

I love the C6 Vette but your new Mustang in that silver with the black wheels is a million times better looking. Congratulations - that is one gorgeous ride.

You had a nice C6. I love Vettes and still would like some day to have a C5, 6 or 7. I had a C4 but it needed so much constant work. I did test drive a used C7- manual transmission when I was shopping and choose my 2018 GT over the C7. I just liked the way it drove, felt and shifted way better and it was still 8K less. I also must have a good MT82. I read about all the problems, broken shift forks, etc., kind of scarey but after test driving Camaros including SS's, used 2017 Mustang GT's and the C7 Vette, my 18 GT just shifts awesome, no notchiness at all- smooth all the time cold or hot, every shift. The Camaros supposed to have a better M/T but my 2011 was notchy and even the brand new ones I test drove were notchy- and they did not track as well as the Mustang. Maybe it's luck of the draw. I liked this GT so much and only went to the Ford dealer to rule it out and cross it off my list. I was in dis-belief and had to test drive it 2 times and after that I was done, I just bought it.

Anyway, nice car- love the color- and the options you got. And with the automatic it must be a rocket- is it as fast or faster than the C6? You also went a long way from FL to get it. You must have got a super deal as the GT's get pricey with options. I was surprisingly able to buy mine in town- they had a good price on Autotrader- but it was base and manual- maybe hard to move around here with the demographic of people. I had to go all the way to Sarasota to get my FIST. I could not touch one around for what I got mine for.

Thanks guys. On the long ass ride home I ended up completing my break in period. Lol. Got home right about 1000 miles.

This weekend I’ll be doing paint correction and sealing the paint. It will take all day Saturday and probably part of Sunday but a must do and worth the effort.
