I've read in Florida an "extended warranty" is "insurance" and you have to be licensed in Florida to sell it. I got Ford Ext Warranty thru Ford directly via the 800# in owners manual. Still saved considerably over what any local dealer wanted.
Just got quotes from Ford's Extended Warranty directly from them on the three contracts (years/miles) I am interested in.
Their prices were $2-300 higher than those quoted by my local dealer. Comparing "apples to apples". Maybe my dealer's prices are a little lower since I am a long time customer and I just cancelled a Ford extended warranty (purchased through them)on my recent trade in. Who knows? All companies and dealers are out to get their pound of flesh from us buyers any way they can.

I only drive about 6-7,000 miles per year. It should be getting a breather for a while. Also, thinking about getting the Ford Premium Ext'd warranty to help my wallet sleep at night.
I'm just shy of 6,000 miles on mine but am driving it more now (except this winter once it snows a lot). I have a 6 year warranty but have it mostly for the electronics on board, not so much for miles driven. With 22 systems on board (per my scanner) I figured something would fail within 6 years.
