I could not get the car cover on in the wind. I would get one side down and the other would go up like a sail.
My daughter does not give up, She finished the Boston marathon. But I had to protect my Mustang in from the Boston elements

mirrors first... then front/back. easy.
^^^This.

I have a Superweave car cover, that is extremely light, (parachute material) for my GTO. If I know I'm taking the car out for the day I get up early, when the wind isn't too bad, and start from the back and roll to the side mirrors. Then roll the front to the side mirrors and just pull off from the mirrors. Then fold both sides to the middle of the car. So now when I go to put it back on, I can just unfold, place over the side mirrors so it's held on, and then reverse the procedure.
It can be a PITA sometimes, but it's better than toxic bird poo!
(I'm in Mass. too)

I put mine on every work day. I see which way the wind is blowing and start with the side that is towards the wind. Then rush to get those side mirrors.
