A new mustang the way I would have ordered one. Only problem, it is on the west coast.
Looking at flights now.

post what you're looking for. West coat dealers tend to not have good discounts though...

Sat at a local dealership. They did a local search, then wider, then wider, and so on.
Only 3 showing , One in Ohio, but has a deposit on it A 10k deposit so I will go with that one is sold.lol. The other two at the same dealer. Far far away, in the land of fruits and nuts.
My local dealer talked with the other dealer to help with the pricing. it is the same as what the Ohio car with discounts is listed at. The added cost will be the flight, and getting it back here.

If it's in California be sure to check into the sales tax situation. I've seen info that suggests if you take delivery in California you will pay California sales tax, and then likely pay sales tax in your state as well. To avoid paying California sales tax you would need to ship the car to another state to take delivery.

Here's a link to a dealer that talks about it: https://www.sunnyvalevw.com/purchasing-a-vehicle-for-use-outside-ca.htm

Most states allow you to show that you paid the sales tax in another state and they put that amount against how much sales tax you have to pay in your own state.

This happened to me when I bought a car in Massachusetts just before I was moving to Idaho. I paid MA taxes... then when I got to Idaho I registered the car and showed them the sales tax I paid in MA and they waved the Idaho sales tax.

More information (from Idaho):

"The tax you properly pay to the other state can offset tax you owe in Idaho. This applies if you paid sales tax in the other state because you didn't qualify for an exemption there. You must have the receipt that shows you paid sales tax due to the other state."

From: https://tax.idaho.gov/i-1097.cfm?seg=sptypsal

So: check to see if your state will allow an "offsetting" of taxes from another state.

you won't pay double taxes. there's 2 options.

If you are using the "selling" dealership finance options, they will have to collect the taxes for the state you will register the car, not their local state.

Example, a FL dealership, selling to a GA customer, if we are using one of our banks, we will collect GA taxes and send the paperwork and money to the customer's local tax commissioner.

If you are buying cash or using your own financing (bank draft from you local credit union or similar), usually the selling dealership won't collect any taxes at all, you only pay the vehicle and their fees. Then, your bank will add local taxes to your loan and they will handle that. IF you are just paying straight cash, then you pay your taxes yourself at your local DMV when you register the car.

But there is not such a thing like double taxes. California is retarded, but not that retarded...

Thanks, Guys.
Vehicle has a deposit on it. So it is a wait/hold pattern.
Most likely sold.
If so the hunt goes on.
