After nearly a year (11 months and 22 days since original down payment), most of which I spent wondering if I had a real allocation, my gt350R is home. HR 305 greets everyone on the forum!
I have always loved and owned mustangs. My first car was a red 1994 mustang, and my (other) current car is a black 2007 mustang, so I chose black with black and red stripes to continue the tradition.
The car is at about 280 miles now, after getting home from the dealer, and all I can say about the car is, "WOW!" Having always driven lowly base mustangs before, I can't comment much about the finish (paint, panel alignment, etc), as I suspect my eye is not as discerning as those of you familiar with BMW, porsche, etc.. However, to me, the car looks perfect, and even better in person than pictures. The interior also, is high quality, the materials are nice, the seats are very comfortable and supportive, and it overall just feels fantstic.
Driving the car is wonderful. It revs up so quickly and has so much power, but is so stable and easy to control. I was afraid it might be difficult to handle (being such a large jump in power compared to my previous cars), but it is just fine. And the sound....I have never heard anything so wonderful! Videos just don't do it justice...and this was a claim I was skeptical of, but now understand completely!
It is crazy how much attention this car gets. Just driving home, people were rolling down their windows to listen to the car, giving thumbs up, etc. At a gas station, several people came up to chat, take pictures, and discuss cars. My wife says she is glad it attracts mostly guys!
I am not a mechanically inclined car guy, but I like cars, and am hoping to learn to take the car on track for HDPE, and to go at least once (maybe I will get hooked, who knows!).
Over the past couple of years, the members of this forum have been super helpful to listen to and I have learned a lot here, so thank all of you so much, you guys are a great community! Special thanks to R_GT_Donson (who I think has left here for the pastures of Porsche) for helping me to find the allocation!
Hopefully from here on out I will be able to continue to learn from you all, and discuss these great cars in the future! Now for some pictures!
