Put together this step by step video on how to paint your calipers as well as apply caliper decals.

[ame]

**Do yourself a favor and purchase 2 kits. You wont get the color and coverage you want with just 1 kit!

Step one: cleaning
I use a power drill with a wire brush attachment to clean of any dust, rust, and grime that may have built up. After that spray the caliper with the supplied brake cleaner and use a rag to clean off.

Step two: Taping off
Use painters tape and tape off everything around the caliper where you dont want paint. (rotors, anything rubber, and anything to provide contrast to the color

Step there: Mix Paint & Reactant
Easy...mix the reactant and paint...

Step four: paint
Take your time and work on 2 calipers at a time. Apply paint on one caliper then while that is drying paint the other one. I would do a minimum of 3 coats if not more.

Step five: decals
Allow to dry overnight before applying decals/stickers. when removing the decal overlay, pull straight down, so that you will not pull up the decal with the overlay.

Very nice. I just did mine on my pp with 6 Pistons front and rear and used 1 kit and still, had little left over. I put 4 coats on each caliper which is more than enough.

Nice job. I've used G2's custom mixed colors in the past (CTSV and STi) with great success. The paint has held up to track days as well. As soon as I get the Mustang home, I'll be removing calipers and having them sprayed with G2. I prefer to have my painter do it since my patience and painting skills are marginal at best.

Example of G2 paint (sprayed):

Who did you order your decals from? I am thinking of adding decals to my gold G2 coated calipers

How close does the color match your stripes.
Great video btw. And just to be clear the color is in the standard lemon lime green
It's almost spot on.

And yes this is just their standard lime green.

Is noone clear coating over the decals? I haven't done these since my Supra but I remember that was the big deal back then and people didn't consider the job finished unless you clear coated over the decals

I've always cleared over the decals using a high temp clear. Waiting to get mine in a few months (currently in the middle of closing on a house) I wanna do white on white with "Mustang" in red.

I bought 950 degree high gloss clear coat engine spray paint from Auyozone to put over the decals... $10 a can. I'll let you know how it looks once I finish it.
